I've had a lovely 318iA Convertible since 2009.

I carried out a lot of work on it lately, but I was browsing the classifieds on PH a couple of weeks ago and the next thing I knew I had bought this, this website is dangerous ...













I bought it because of the colour, it's called Coloured Gold and it changes from peach in the morning to orange in the afternoon to gold at night.

It has a full BMW service history, lots of options and most importantly, a M54 straight-six.

Yes, I think a facelift Sport/M Sport coupé in Silver Grey is one of the best looking cars of last decade.

I'm getting 22 mpg at an average speed of 15 mph around North West London's suburbs, which I think is reasonable. wackojacko summarised the performance perfectly, it's enough to make passengers go and to make me want to take the long way home but not enough to make it into an animal. I passenger in an E92 M3 from time to time, that's an animal.

No, it's not the same colour. I had been considering a Cd but considering my usage, I think that this makes more sense.

In response to all of posts regarding the colour, which is nearly all of the posts, this is from the BMW Individual brochure for the facelift coupé and convertible ...

"BMW Individual paint finishes have one particularly exclusive quality: the so-called “changing” effect is an elegant attribute made possible by special pigmentation. It means that the colour changes in fine nuances depending on the angle of light."

petrolveins, I know what you have! I've been following your thread in Readers' Cars, it's an excellent insight into running one of these and you clearly REALLY enjoy your car.

I washed it yesterday and parked in the sun, the colour appeared to be a bubble gum pink - it looked amazing.
