I thought I would start a readers car on my daily for anybody who's interested. I gave it a good clean today so thought I would take a few pictures. Just a quick snow foam, wash and wax.
I've had the car about six months and find it a great all rounder for the daily commute. The suspension is pretty solid but it is a comfortable motor, and a nice place to be. I drive on a mixture of motorway and B roads to work which seem to suit the civic well.

Token ginger cat.

Standard smiley.

Gave the interior a good going over with some new auto finesse products I got from ford fair

The car is relatively standard apart from the HKS intake (which is purely for the noise) and some tegiwa wheel spacers all round.

I ordered a front grill badge from cox motorsports (Honda supplier) a few weeks ago and decided to fit that this afternoon too, was very tight and painful at times but I really didn't fancy removing the bumper with the limited time I had.

Came out well in the end I think.

I'm well aware that for the most part these cars don't go down well in the type-r world but as an all rounder to live with everyday I've found it pretty good. I've owned a few type-r motors in the past and although not as savage as my last ep3 i had, it still does very well.

Please leave your FN2 abuse below wink

I've noticed mate, I think your ones a keeper. There's still something really appealing about a well sorted ep3.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I wasn't sure if the FN2 would really get any on here smile I've tried to keep it mint, its a 57 plate and only just hit 50k. Reasonably low mileage for the year.

It's recently been at honda having an entire roof respray. This can corrode when the roof lining meets the windscreen, there is a small plastic strip which generally rubs the paint away causing rust over time. Honda replaced the 'hard' plastic strip with a softer revised one also. Unless it's been addressed by honda almost all if not all FN2's will suffer this problem.

What year is your car? Mine is suffering the rusty roof fate. I just figured that they wouldn't do anything about it now with the age of it
Mine is a 57 plate and is well out of Honda warranty. I first tried my local dealer who didn't want to know. Called Honda uk and complained. Honda knew about this issue and did a very quiet recall to correct it. They even extended the corrosion warranty. There is a lot of info on civinfo. After some waiting (2 weeks) and a case being opened I got the repair work carried out for free as a 'good will' gesture. Your local Honda dealership will need to take pictures of your roof as part of the case Honda uk will take out. Good luck.

That's usually bks spouted by people that haven't driven either, you can blame Clarkson for that.

Nice car btw, the FN2 was on the shortlist when i was looking to change my Golf NoMotion but the Focus ST i found was perfect.
I shall probably do a post in the near future on my focus ST too.

Cheers. Mine is same age. Just called in to Honda this morning to ask this. Apparently without a service history, they will not do it. As I do all my servicing myself, they weren't interested. I'll try calling Honda UK. I'm a member on civinfo, haven't been on for a while.
Cheers I'll not take over your thread anymore smile
Feel free to take over! Initially Honda (dealership) tried this argument with me, however it has nothing to do with service history, its to do with their corrosion check. Something that mine never had. Ignore the dealer and call Honda uk expressing your disappointment as a loyal long term customer etc. Tell them you've seen it was a recall issue and you would like your dealer to take photos of your car for Honda uk to investigate, being polite and courteous will help. Let me know how you get on.

I am really tempted by one of these, the only down side is we are expecting a little one and not sure how easy they are to get a baby in and out of the back seats.
Snap, little one due in a few months also. The Mrs has a 5 door but I shall be sticking with this. It really is big inside, very practical and as others have said, civilised when driven around town and shops but when the mood takes you your able to drive it as hard as you like.

No major update, went to rockingham today (touring cars) so gave the car a good blast there and back on some gorgeous back roads. I also changed the pollen filter and did some swirl tidying on the bonnet during the past week, although the quick pictures were terrible. MOT next week, fingers crossed.

So, flew through the mot. Two new fronts will be needed soon as the inside tread is now a little worn. It's currently on toyo T1-R and they seem to suit the car nicely.

What did you have in mind? I'm also considering the Yoko's. I have Uniroyal rainsport 3 on my focus and so far they've been great in the wet.

I have to admit I ran the potenza's on my previous ep3 and found them totally fine. There's a lot of choice at reasonable prices.

Few small updates, only very minor bits, 2 new uniroyal rainsports on the front, a new gear knob purchased at the jap show finale and some tidy ups.

New gear knob

New pressed plates (reflective so road legal).

Also had some sill stickers made on an owners club, before and after.

Looks as clean as mine. Also with less Stone chips! I'm not a fan of the carbon bits though.

I've had it as a daily for over 3 years. I've become so dam attached. The only thing I've had to do to it is; replace the brakes and tyres (for obvious reasons) and a number plate bulb. That's it other than general servicing. Not bad for a 9 year old car.

Looks good mare, keep it clean and drive it hard!

Excuse for mine:

Is that on standard suspension mate?

Yes it was standard, I think by savage it felt like the crossover was far more noticeable. But in real world driving, driven hard as intended there is very little between them. I think the 'more savage' was also probably due to being more spartan and feeling like an older car, still well put together mind you.

So... A slight change of plan due to a little one on the way. After only just having the car serviced and pads and discs done it is shortly going to be up for sale. Number plates sorted today and a new 5 door fiesta ST is on order. In spirit blue of course wink

I've loved owning this car it's been a superb all rounder and nothing but reliable, however with my circumstances changing I've had to give in.

I'll look at getting a new thread of the ST when it arrives, although I'm sure there's plenty out there already.
