Well there's hardly any photo's anywhere of the AC ACE, so I thought I'd post a couple of my car smile

It has the 5lt Mustang engine with supercharger, producing circa 340 bhp

As requested a bit more info and photo's.

I've had the car for about a year, it was registered in 1998.

The car mentioned in Bristol is not mine, I live near Dartford, Kent.

There were 46 mark 1 cars (easily identified by round headlights) which are all hand moulded aluminium panels. The mark 2 cars (my one) have the

single headlights, composite bonnet and pressed aluminium panels.(The idea being to reduce cost). They were selling for circa £70,000 in the

day (or rather they weren't) . There are about 8 of these.

All cars had a variety of engine types and were all unique as I understand, no two are exactly the same. The cars consist of mainly Ford parts much

the same as older TVR's did.

Problems seem (in my case) to be electric windows having a mind of there own. Other than that its great fun.

Nice to see one being used - quite fancied one TBH.

Keep the thread updated please smile
It had been sat in a garage for 13 years prior to me buying it. I've only done about 1000 miles so far as the 'fettling' took quite a bit of time (mainly due to perished rubber connectors/hoses catching me out - I should have replaced them all at the start). But the intention was and is to use it.

Never seen pictures of one of these...I seem to recall that there was an AC ME3000 (?) back in the day

There is a bit of MX5 about the rear lights on yours, and the interior looks a lot better finished than some 90's TVRs I have seen and driven.. a pal had an S3 that I looked after for a while and the interior trim was very poor.

Any pics of the version with the round headlights ?

Nice car by the way, I would imagine that it is rather quick !
Not as quick as the 5lt TVR Griffith or Chimera. The specs say 0-60 around 5.4 secs (more or less depending on which figures are correct) and 155mph

A quick update

I finally decided to replace the steering wheel, the flat bottom one (fitted by someone as an aftermarket) was driving me nuts, especially as being 350mm it obscured anything over 55mph. I think the early E30 / E36 wheel suits the car better.

I changed the gear knob and handbrake to the brushed aluminium Nardi ones, they match the dash nicely I think.

Next.

Rear suspension upgrade, with new springs and adjustable shocks. (currently being made up)

I like these a lot.
How long have you had it for?
I parked up next to one a fair few years ago in Crawley, think it was yours if my memory serves me right (from the numberplate)
Hi

I've had the car for a year and a few months. It wouldn't have been mine you saw as previously it was in storage for circa 7 years Liverpool way.

The number plates for quite a few of them are similar e.g. S50ACE, R500ACE so it may have been one of those.

I always feel like playing 'spot the car part' with stuff like this, loads of stuff from other cars just on the outside!

Cool car though, you're never likely to see another out and about by chance
My latest 'spot' is the Jaguar XJS Convertible filler cap.

Interior is pretty much Ford (though lots of different Fords) and a Merc hood switch

Proper 90's rarity goodness.

It's properly ungainly in places and clearly looks like it's been built in a shed so you can't imagine paying £70k for it new but at the same time it's such a rare thing that it's beyond cool.

Bet it sounds great too.
It does sound great.

Its possible to see another (Um,... I haven't yet). There are twelve Mk1 and four Mk2 cars currently legal for road use in the UK as of today's date (taxed & MOT'd).

Sorry, I had a bit of time on my hands.

[quote=Smokey Boyer]Absolutely no connection to the garage selling the car, but recently purchased a daily driver from them and noticed this AC Ace V8 on their website.

https://www.paulgreasleycars.co.uk/used-cars/ac-ac...

never seen one before, and in my search to find out more about it stumbled across this post. Thought I would share the advert given the rarity of the car and the obscure garage it is for sale at. No idea how they came to have the AC V8, almost everything else they sell is at the cheap daily driver end of the market.

Not sure I would be brave enough to trade my Chimaera 500 in for this but tempted. Is there any price guide for this sort of car?

Whoops, I've been out of the loop for a bit.
Value I guess, circa £27-30k.
Its difficult as there's only 9/10 Mk2's and 46 Mk1's (less a couple not with us any more). It seems on the face of it a very good buy, but I haven't seen it and the MOT history throws up a few issues (which hopefully have been sorted).

I found this.
I think its mine being finished off at the factory. ( I might be wrong but there's only two with the aluminium dash. The other car has a red interior)
