Hello all i'm Henry a very mad 17yr old with a love for the Green Oval!

I REALISE SOME PEOPLE WILL COMMENT ABOUT INSURANCE ETC ETC

I PLAN ON GETTING HER UPTO A GOOD STANDARD READY FOR WHEN I CAN AFFORD TO DRIVE HER.

my friends think i'm mental for buying a very cheap P38 but who cares...

they're all into slammed Hondas etc etc whats wrong with someone who loves old big rangies? lol

She's a 2001 vouge with all the trimmings

Just a little cosmetic enhancement for the interior, coz i'm sad.

The HVAC unit is pretty plain and plastic and its tacky plastic finish really doesn't look good against the wood

soooo £4 later i have this..

After some cleaning trimming etc etc

Much improved imo.

Cheers Chaps for the Image Help!

She has had a whooping great whack in the rear wing that has been repaired by a drunk ape lol thats her biggest flaw.

Mechanically she's pretty good engine sounds sweet, gearbox is pretty good.

But if she breaks badly ya'll be the first to know lol

I've a feeling that insurers will hear the words "17 year old" and "V8" and st themselves, despite how lethargic the 214 bhp actually must feel.

Good luck with the project though!
I had a laugh and asked for a quote it was £400 a month lol

which isn't too bad for a 17yr old with a v8.

however i don't have that kind of money smile

hopefully the premium will fall after a few years

Maybe even a classic car policy you have to be 21 though.

The Chap must of been blind or drunk when he did this repair.

There's also signs of filler around the rear arch, remnants of past rust repair imo

New intake pipe has also been fitted, the original had cracked and been repaired with fabric tape.

Its also had the been "modified"

Whilst i was under the bonnet i decided to "tidy" the intake and air con compressor with some VHT

Before you spend any more money or time on it please make sure it doesnt loose coolant or overheat. It wont be the headgasket, it's the block and the reason they get moved on to another punter/sucker.
If the engine is good, then everything else is fixable at a reasonable cost.
Cheers mate she hold every fluid, sort of!

leaks oil like a sieve though!

It is a small world Alec hows the SV8?

Is the plan a general tidy up, or may it end up as a full restore?

I've always fancied a RRC but thats an impossibility because of the price

However the P38 has become my ultimate range rover.

So Yes a full resto is inevitable lol

i'm planning a full respray

Top end engine rebuild

full walnut interior

Re upholster the seats

re-weld the rear bumper mounts because it has rotted away so the bumper droops on one side!! lol

refurbish the wheels or get a set of 18" Mondial wheels which is better looking imo.

fit stainless side steps

plastic wide arches which were a rare addition which make the P38 look the NUTS

Front plastic nudge bar with spot lights

New VCU mine whines like bh

replace sunroof the current one is very corroded and leaks!

EBC Offroad disks with green pads all round.

New headliner

Full Janspeed stainless exhaust.

there is more lol

but thats all i can think of for now smile

This is the inspiration for my P38

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Another fellow PH member with one of the best P38's i've ever seen, i hope to get it close to that standard.

So @D4MJT feel free to comment on my project if you like what you see lol
