Following Scutch's thread for his E92 M3 and a few comments suggesting we need more red BMWs I thought I'd post mine.

Granted, it's no M3 but I like it biggrin

You're right, that is an option and has been suggested before.

I've got some ACS springs sitting here waiting to go on. But I've also got some M4 437m alloys which I'll get round to checking if they fit or not at some point.

It's also remapped with the centre section of the exhaust removed so it sounds pretty fruity too!

ACS Springs now on.

Spacers being ordered imminently (12mm front /15mm rear) as I can't get over how underwheeled it looks and will be booked in for rear tints when I get round to it.

Love this! I’d be tempted to chuck some M4 wheels on it. Yes it’s not an M4 but they just look so right on the twin 5 spoke design!
It's been done but without messing with the tyres i.e. without stretching them they stick out and rub, so I've read. I actually bought some 437m M4 alloys originally but they never made it on.

Thanks for the other nice comments, it's certainly a bit different from the usual 3 and 4 series 2.0 diesels in white. It's no sports car but it's powerful enough and comfortable enough for 99.9% of the things I need it for.

The other 0.1% of the time I drive the Range Rover but it doesn't move for weeks on end and I'm always worried it won't start when I do!

Thanks everyone! Really, really happy with how it looks now.

What is it like to drive everyday with the exhaust modifications can you control the volume via the driving modes ?
You could, and it would normally be quieter in eco/comfort but I removed the exhaust flap so it's pretty loud (without being intrusive) most of the time. It doesn't drone at all.

Sport+ seems to make it even louder and it pops and bangs on downshifts, especially in manual mode.

Excuse the legs... had the wheel re-trimmed in alcantara which I think suits the interior and feels great.

It's an M-Performance splitter wrapped in carbon fibre. I'd not seen too many red ones either, until my neighbour got a 420d in red!

Yes it was Royal Steering Wheels. Really pleased with it and goes well with the alcantara around the gearstick.

Do you mean interior or exterior carbon?

I’ve not looked into updating the iDrive, what have you found available worth doing?

What is the ‘ring connection? Were they tuned there or something?
More a tenuous link, with it being Germany.

Bit of a thread resurrection, the car looks pretty much the same but I cracked an alloy so used it as an excuse to change the wheels to 405m style.

Then I've been thinking about getting rid of it and I was very close to buying a C63s AMG but decided I really liked it, so it's getting some TLC and I'll keep it a while longer. Someone keyed it recently and there's some stone chips to the bonnet and some scuffs to the bumper where a foreign HGV nearly took my back end off and didn't stop. The carbon bits are getting a bit tatty, especially the side skirts where I keep putting my heel on them getting out.

So it's getting all that sorted next week and I'm changing all the carbon bits to the same parts but in gloss black, then it's going in for a ceramic coating and full detail.

However, the fun bit is the intercooler/down pipe, air intake, charge pipe, new turbo, engine and gearbox map and the Eisenmann Race exhaust which I'm told should see it close to 470-480 bhp. That's all been ordered so excited about that.

So I'm spending 5k on it in the hope it feels like a new car.

I'd just like opinions on wheels;

I think these would look good?

I was behind a lovely Alpina B4 earlier.

Not sure if they'd suit it or not.

In terms of what I've bought;

Wagner Intercooler
Wagner Catless Downpipe
Pure Turbos Stage 2 Turbo
Eisenmann resonated centre pipe
Eisenmann Race backbox 90mm tips
FTP boost pipe
FTP charge pipe
FTP intake
FTP air pipes
FTP intake scoops
BMC Air Filter

My brother will be doing the work as he's a BMW technician. No decision yet on the wheels but the gloss black M Performance parts have arrived and I dropped it off earlier for it's paintwork to be sorted.

Edit: then a remap and I'll get rid of the JB4 that's already on it.
