very good looking, did you sort the mpg issue out? Do the trumpets have filters?
Thank you Goose, i drove it thurs aug 30 for its first ever drive , to the mot , then Monday 3rd to Blenheim , and that's it barring a bit of petrol station visiting after i realised its appalling lack of economy lol,

i had not driven it or worked on it since due to other stuff , but i have a plan to skim the heads to 12.5 :1 , put cdi ignition on it , new guide seals , then spend a lot of time on the dyno with egt and the scope and try to get it running a lot cleaner.

oh and no filters. just bellmouths i made from a old flagpole .

Oh i forgot i did change the advance curves , i found that somehow the front engine was on 5d atdc static ,which definitely would not have helped ,and so now i have them both on 15d static and 28 total , it felt like it had gained about 100 lbs ft , so 400 lbs ft total , and was much better on fuel ...eg i filled it drove 12 miles and filled it again , and it was above 5 mpg lol.

Awesome! Have you got a build thread or anything, I would be keen to see the engineering behind how you have coupled both engines together. I have always considered doing something myself with a couple of 4 cylinder motors.
There is an embarrassingly long winded faff about it , on here Mudgey ..

Cheers, had a quick browse through and will finish off later when I am not at work, I should actually be doing something today haha

How reliable has the coupling proven to be and have you had any issues or breakages transferring the torque to the snout of the second engine?
Well my total mileage is only around 100 miles so far Mudgey , but its working fine so far .

Thank you Peanut and John , i hope neither of you, or you graham, get sacked for pointing at the screen at work and going w.t.h.... repeatedly.

I was at Blenheim with my TVR and saw this car parked close to the TVR area. It was nothing short of incredible. Couldn't stop looking at it. Totally, brilliantly bonkers smile
Thank you THG , it was definitely a contrast to all the immaculately painted tvr's .

just wonder what sort of reception you would get if you turned up in it at the next Climate change get together.
Would it qualify as a hybrid?
would they actually stop to ask , or just stone it to death ?

hello chaps ,

i took the heads off to put in valve guide seals , and accidentally shaved off 2mm to bring compression ratio up to 11.6:1 ....seems a little barkier so thought some here might enjoy it. smile

Thank you smile...

To be honest Kerrly , it was a bit surreal ...like waiting for christmas , and then it happens 6 month early , i was driving along pretty much "out of body" ,98 % of my brain saying hold on it has not been tested properly ,what are you DOING.. while the slightly dominant 2 % was saying STUFF IT ...BE BRAVE ...LETS JUST GO .

what really helps is using my imagination to convince myself i was just being paid to test drive it ,and i had not really built it all myself , cast away the last 5 years , and be in the moment ,,,,but of a compulsory sharp zen learning curve ... whether you like it or not.. .

it made a huge difference having v there in her tvr ready to tow me home if needed.

robert.
