Lovely, I can see these getting very collectable.
Not for a very long time. It takes Jaguars decades to start adding value. Much rarer 70s stuff is only just starting to rise in value now
Which 70s Jags are rarer than the 98 home market X358 XJRs?

Re your other post, I tested several prior to buying this one; none had aluminium trim.

Well If you want to split hairs into variants of a face lift then that’s pushing it. I was suggesting x350/8 in its entirety. The likes of the XJ coupe and early pre-he XJS are only really now starting to climb in value. There is little chance that a specific facelift will make it any more valuable / desirable.

The alluminium trim was standard and wood was a cost free option

That may or may not be the case, although askiing prices seem to have hardened for all X350 / 358s (even the diesels!), since I bought mine. Asking prices and selling prices of course are not always closely related, and since I bought the car to drive, not as an investment, that is largely irrelevant to me.

XJ Coupe and XJ-S prices bottomed out in the late 1980s, were static until the mid 1990s, and have been rising for more than twenty years. You may find it of interest to note that a total of 8,378 XJ Coupes were produced in a little over two years:

and 10,854 Supercharged X350 / 358s, of all varieties over a six year period, the 358 being manufactured for two of those.:

By all means, have it your own way about the aluminium trim, but may I point out that of the nine X350 / 358 XJRs currently for sale on autotrader, just one X350 has the aluminium, and no 358s at all.
