Purchased at auction last summer. Haven’t put many miles on it since, but all good so far!

Oooh, lovely!

More details please!
Bought at Historics at Brooklands auction last summer. Came with a huge history file, including photographic record of a full restoration in around 2000. It likes a drink, though. And that’s saying a lot from someone who also runs a couple of Bentleys!!!

Bet you are pleased the price of petrol has come down!
If only I could take advantage of it! Car is in storage, so can’t access it at the moment!

Wonderfull things to drive.

However I do remember my friends double six interior feeling something like a gentlemans club complete with picnic tables.
During these times you could surely have a single malt and cigar sesh in there!!
A good idea, is that!

What a fabulous car. While you’re stuck indoors, may I commend to you Stanley Sedgwick’s Motoring my Way (2nd Edition, much more in that one). He was a big fan of the Double Six and frequently raked his over the continent. A taster for you:

Excellent, thank you! I’ll try and find a copy of that. Cheers.

Indeed. Frugality is its main selling point!

I’ve always wondered how they drive ? Is it super comfortable ?
It’s a super relaxing place to be; the V12 was renowned in its day as being a very smooth engine. Think of it as a sporting man’s Silver Shadow, but with slightly worse fuel bills!

Lovely-looking thing, and something of a bargain too? I keep promising myself that I need to put "owning an XJ" on my bucket list, and this would fit the bill beautifully.
Definite bargain potential if you can find a good one. I got mine for £6K, which is ridiculous really.
