SKYLINE GTR Race car MOT - LANCS

Hi Guys,

I have just moved back to Lancs having lived overseas for the past decade or so and am trying to get my track / race car MOTd that i had built in the middle east. Plan is to do some track days with it, and if i can get it road legal do some occassional sunday blasts in it.

One of the main things missing ( other than the TT RB26 that is ) is windscreen wipers, so i want to get a mono wiper kit or something - anyone have any ideas where to get this online?



Car is now a LS6 Swap RWD with Nitrous, stripped out to about 1200 Kgs.

Also being completely new to the area if any ones local be good to catch up i am a stones throw from Botlon

I did see the wheels up North event and was planning to come down but my car arrived in London so i ended up driving down south that day at 4am to collect it so was just to tired to then come back out again when i got back.

Hopefully ill make the next one, as long as i can get it all registered and MOTd

What a car! I’m from Chorley not to far. Stevie at Grinspeed in leyland (top bloke) deals with a lot of highly modified cars (usually Hondas) I’m sure he’d know a suitable MOT place.

Thanks Mate, I will 100% give him a call i have an option in newcastle but i cant be arsed to drive it 3 hours on a trailer for the process if i am honest!

Will likely be a Friday, i work from home but Friday afternoons are pretty quiet for me

yeah i think it spent more time on fire than racing!

Chris was very helpful with sorting the paperwork for me to export the car to UK, he is a good chap

honestly the car hasnt moved, its got about 250 boxes around it as we unpack, plan to get this wipers sorted on it in the next week or so then off for an MOT found a place who will do it in Darwin but it needs wipers.

nah its Darwin MOT or something, he seemed pretty good just need to sort the wipers.

I may try some other places though if any recommendations.

little update - Got the wipers all sorted now, car goes in for MOT on Wednesday in Darwin - fingers crossed!!

managed to track down a GTR being stripped in leicester so drove down over jubilee weekend and removed the wipers then wired them, all working fine now so fingers crossed it passes!!

I haven't , I'm just flying back from a stag do in ibiza so haven't had chance to do anything else

Going to get some body work painted up on it managed to find some original gtr skirts and rear spats so going to fit those and get mot done next week.

Managed to get a plate for it also

Good news i got the MOT done last week, sent papers off for dvla to issue log book so I think about 4 weeks before I can legally insure and run it

Dropped the car at body shop in Egerton to get some bits tidied up

Hopefully get it out on road in August
