my track weapon
Discussion
Well sold my beach buggy that i spent 2006/2007 building.. always the way, thought i would never sell it but interests change i suppose! Anyway, got good money for it and decided to buy myself a road legal track car.
After lots of searching i found a Fisher Fury that was exactly what i was after.
4 days ago, trip up to norwich to pick her up (4 and a half hours each way!)
Very very happy
the most insane car i have ever driven, much more brutal than i was expecting. Honda fireblade powered. Dynoed carbs, baffled sump. built to race in the 750 class. Which it did a few times, but previous owner was a little too careful to drive hard and risk smashing it (understandable!) also won the Pembury Endurance.
I love the way it looks. Classic racer look about it.
I think the clutch was on its way out when i got it, and my 300 odd miles hasnt helped it. Got in yesterday to take advantage of the weather again and clucth slipping like mad. So i stripped down and replaced. just need to finish when nex thome on saturday.
My plans are to take it to a few track days, and maybe start some hill climb events. may look into chnaging the RS wheels to some revolutions. New stickers and bit of a tidy up etc.
anyway... some pics!

L100NY : yea it was advertised on here... had to have it as soon as i saw it. fitted the bill perfectly, i would have built it to look more or less like this, love the classic look.
Found some nice minilites here.. but worried about the replica wheels a bit.. what the general opinion?

not much of an update im afraid. Driven the Fury a fair few times, but last 5 weeks have been a nightmare!
First, rebuilt clutch, not too much of an issue, took a week though as i didnt have a couple of the parts and had to order them in... Anyway, that sorted, went for a drive, and the gear linkage snapped on first drive! So sorted that out, which was a bit of a pig as i had to re-design it because of a weak area...
Next drive, hit 7500rpm, misfire, followed by very rough running getting progressivly worse.. So limp home, notice was very low on fuel, so prehaps sucked some crap into carbs? Filled up and drained carbs, also rejetted and tuned. Started first time, so problem solved?!
No... again first drive, hit 7500 rpm again, and mis-fire, rough running... few hours fiddling, now no spark at all, so definately electrical. Had a spare ECU so plugged it in to no joy.. maybe its the coils? Anyway i sent it off to a local auto electic specialist, so hope it gets sorted!
So thanks to all that, still not seen the track yet.. however.. i did invest in some Compomotive CXR's which i think look loads better, £320 from ebay, brand new, never fitted, correct size, and rear offset to fill arches. Bargain!
Old tyres fitted (loads of use left in them).. rear arches look much better and i think they suit the style of the car too.. so some photos!

cheers guys, this threads come back from the dead!
TAx disc location is proably not 100% legal, but it is there, and not had anyone say anything about it yet.. it cant fit inside the perspex screen so i couldnt care less really! just see if i ever get picked up on it!
took it around Castle Coombe at the beginning of sept.. on the wettest day we have had this year
It was brilliant fun, very sketchy in the wet, especially with those tyres! but great fun!
been in garage since though, need to find the source of an annoying oil leak, and change the clutch..
will post some pics of it at coombe tomorrow.
Im in Wiltshire, not far from Devizes
