My Renault Alpine GTA Turbo, a car I always dreamt of owning when I was blatting around in a 5 Turbo nearly 2 decades ago! Used to go and hassle the guys in the showroom at Renault Birmingham for a test drive but they never let me! 20 years old but still looks a fresh design. Just done a 1100 mile round trip to Le Mans Classic with no problems.

Only a few hundred left on the road. Still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it smile

Guys,
Thanks for your comments. Drives well, the turbo is a bit lazy cos its built for economy (got 30mpg on the run to Le Mans and back) as well as power. Need to get it on the boil around 3k revs and then its a lovely wall of boost until nearly 7k. Figures are around 5.7 to 60 and top of 150mph. Had the car two years, spent money on it (as I seem to with getting all my cars just right for me) but as I have 5 cars (this one, facelift 4.0 XJS, Impreza WRX, Triumph Stag, Triumph GT6 and Jag X Type everyday car), the cost of taxing them all and storage is killing the cash flow and my wife has had enough and wants the house finished redface( It was my dream car and has lived up to my expectations. Buy a good one and they are great but as with any 20 year old car, buy a shed and its going to hurt the wallet!
Foot to the floor, enjoy the boost!

Have to say that while there are still a few rough cars out there, due to the cost of parts most have ended up being broken for spares as they are worth more that way. I toyed with getting the S2 944 but went for the Alpine for 2 reasons - 1st was I had always wanted one, 2nd 944's are everywhere, less than 250 of these on the road smile
Apart from the respray, seats and tuning bits, all of which where my choice to do, the car has been very tough and reliable. Just taken it to Le Mans Classic, 1100 miles round trip over 4 days and not a single problem. Not many 20 year old cars you can do that in.
