Picked up my new car on Friday and a symbol has appeared that looks a bit like a 'cup cake', but can't find anyhting in the manual. I think it's a message, but no idea how to access it or deal with it, I've been through the handbook a few times but to no avail, does anyone have a clue?

My advice would be to stop driving the car and ring the dealer - be on the safe side.
Pretty sure it's nothing serious as it doesn't correspond to any of the warning symbols listed in the handbook. I will try to post up a picture this evening, I didn't mention that it's yellow. I will see if anything turns up here this morning and call the dealer if I can't get an answer.Yes I have sent them the pic, think there's some head scratching going on there which is a bit worrying. Just wondered if some bright spark here would know the answer as it's often the case that there's more knowledge amongst owners than dealers. I doubt it's collant, the car is brand new and there's a specific warning message for that, I will let you all know when I have an answer though to save anyone else the bother.

Have you tried pushing FORWARD on the stalk to access 1/1 message? The image looks like a Sim card to me.
Tried eveything mate, agreed it looks like sim card so wondering if it's got something to do with PCM. No sunroof or tyre pressure monitoring, although it could be a beer prompt, i'll have another look in the settings. Eerily quiet on the dealer front, I think this could be going to technical support.Manks said:
These upgrades were obviously not possible before the car was delivered to you?
I know, it makes no sense, picked the car up last Friday! I guess that as I bought it from dealer stock it may have been sitting around for the last couple of months, still poor though. Might be worth asking the question while yours is in the workshop.Captain James T said:
It means that one of your VTS tags isn't switched on. To turn it on hold down the button on the tag for five seconds and then the 'Cup Cake' symbol will go out
I think we've established that it isn't a cup cake, it's a pint of Peroni. I reckon you're right though, excuse my ignorance but where or what is the button/tag? I will be taking the car in for a software upgrade but would be good to sort this particular issue with the help of the massif.Captain James T said:
The button on the VTS tag. (The small card that you take with you when you go out in the car). It has a small button on it to turn it on and off..... Hold it down five seconds and the small red LED will then flash every few seconds to show that it's activated. The car then recognises that the VTS card is present in the car and the 'Pint of Peroni' symbol should go out. The same thing happened on mine and a confused call to my OPC managed to sort it out
Thanks Captain, the penny had dropped last night as I logged off that it was the tracker tag, I never noticed that it had a button on it before. This did the trick so thank you, shame my OPC weren't as useful but I guess it is a strange one. Special mention to Lancaster100sqd, first post in 9 months on here and he hits it first time!
