I bought my 1995 manual coupe C2 in 2011. Since then prices have a risen dramatically. I wonder if they'll have further still to go? Regardless of that, I have seen my initial outlay almost triple and the time has come to sell.

How much further do you think 993 (and actually all air cooled) prices have to rise?? Am I going to kick myself in another five years?

Aldous Voice (Voicey) keeps a monthly record of the movement in Ferrari 360 prices on his webpage. Does anyone keep something similar for 993s?

What will I buy instead? I'm trying to reduce the size of my garage! Although a 997GTS in the 50's sounds great value.

One car has to go: either my 360 or my 993. I'm going to advertise both and see which goes first. I genuinely can't decide which one to keep. I had the MOT done on the 993 last month and I'd done less than 1,000 miles in the last 12 months. It deserves better.

I'm going to put the feelers our with a couple to dealers later this week to see if they might be interested.

Why? To enjoy? To drive? To make money?

Why?

I bought the car to drive and to replace my 964. And I drove it everywhere. But then I bought a great value 996 C4 (with Hartech engine rebuild) for weekly commute to London. A V12 ferrari followed for GT work. A 360 filled the supercar role and a 1977 Carrera 3.0 (Orange) filled the classic car slot. So I've ended up with 5 cars and I'm not driving my 993 except to give it an occasional good run.

All very interesting.

To muddy the waters further the car is registered as a cat d from 12 years ago. Although no Porsche mechanic has yet been able to show me any damage repairs!

I bought the car at a discount as it enabled me to acquire a 993 for less than the market value.

I'm guessing that the eventual purchaser will be doing the same. I've been advised that a 20% reduction in price might be in order.
