What is the general consensus here, are Porsche going to make enough of these to meet with the demands of their customers, or are we going to see the usual bun fight as customers queue up for a slot to then flip them in the following months? Surely we are not going to see crazy premiums on these like we did on the 991.1 GT3?

haha, "bum", having one of them days, but you never know, tramps might be interested too if they can get credit and turn a profit.

All the OPC's I have regular contact with have said the same; all depends on the allocation numbers they get, which they expect will be limited in the initial, and maybe only batch! I doubt they can make an infinite amount and will be similar numbers to the 991.1 GT3.

I feel it's time the OPCs should consider the REAL enthusiasts FOR A CHANGE who have

Never been fortunate on previous allocations despite having loi in for years

Hard working guys who are not millionaires

Of course they must have buying / service history and promise not to flip

but we all know the dealers will supply the super wealthy again, some who I know will flip AGAIN the others will park them alongside the rest of their collection ,

Again leaving the guy I've mentioned (me) without
There are OPC's with some common sense though. I'm none of those things but did manage to bag a GT4 on a similar premise. However, it does on occasion mean swallowing your pride and putting a lot of work in to have them take your money, which is what I did, but got there in the end.

Interesting how attitudes across different OPCs vary as to who is most likely to receive a car.
Quite, I was told by one that I couldn't have one because I hadn't bought from them before. No "sure, but only if we get enough to cover our regulars first and then some", just an outright no, as if Porsche have sanctioned some kind of ban on selling to new customers. Thankfully I don't need to buy from them!

If true, it looks like the GT3 will be in even more demand this time around

"The next Porsche 911 will exclusively use turbocharged six-cylinder engines when it arrives in 2019, including the GT3, marking the end of naturally aspirated units for the line-up."
