Macan Turbo Performance Package Delivery
Discussion
Has anybody taken delivery of a Macan Turbo Performance Package yet? Just intrigued to see first impressions etc. Mine not due to arrive until the end of April. I've only see road tests on the snow, so not a lot of good! Also can't seem to find any feedback from owners in threads that have taken delivery. They seem to be in very short supply by all accounts from what I can make out.
Thanks, you must of had one of the very first cars, looks like a lovely spec. Looking forward to seeing a few UK road tests. Will be interested to see how many Porsche UK bring in, my dealer have only been allocated one so far so numbers seem low.

Yes got mine in Dec . 3000miles in now . Great daily driver .
Quick enough , handles well , makes a good noise . It was over a year since I had a standard Turbo so can't really compare if the performance difference is noticeable, but an extra 40bhp , bigger brakes and GTS suspension cannot be a bad thing !
I'm surprised how few are out there . The 1st used car only appeared on line 2 days ago ( at £95k ! )

RS6 are quite a weapon, so the MAC turbo PP must be quite something, really excited now about getting mine! Gone for Volcano grey with the turbo exterior and interior packs and a few other nice bits like the pano roof, etc. My Macan SD has been a fantastic all round car, but really fancied replacing it with an unhinged super MAC!

It's was a particularly excessive Spec ! Mine was £74k which is a touch better.
Just to update the OP , my dealer have taken in a PTS Rivera Blue RS6 which i really fancied . I test drove today expecting to be blown away by Performance and therefore have a difficult decision to make . It was actually a disappointment . Only marginally quicker if any , handling felt sloppy in comparison and PDK felt much slicker than Audi box . Was quite surprised TBH .

Enjoy! Out of interest How does it compare to the GTS? I ordered the GTS originally which I think is probably the sweet spot in the range bang for buck, but decided last minute to change to the Turbo PP as really fancied something that felt seriously quick, kind of a practical 911 as I have two young children so needed the practicality....

Collected today 85k first from porsche Tewksbury very happy. Out of Macan gts can tell the diffence but gts was great 2
Probably best to test drive something like a GTS and see for yourself. I think you will get differing opinions. From my personal experience I think it's an amazing very sporting SUV but there's no getting away from the fact that it's an SUV (which is no bad thing!). Admittedly I still have the diesel (Turbo PP arrives in May) but on 21's with AIR, etc so it handles really well and the ride quality is exceptionally good - I've driven mine across twisty Alpine passes and it was really impressive (much more so than I expected) and a lot of fun. Certainly a feel good car and a lovely place to spend time - options like the full leather, sports seats, pano roof make it feel very premium.
If the brief is to own one reasonably practical fun "do it all" car I would be extremely happy with a GTS or Turbo. But would be lovely to have something like a Caterham tucked away in addition for assault on the senses weekend hacks! Best to test drive one and see what you think for yourself....

For those of you running a Macan, can you give a sense of the fun factor? Are you running weekend cars too, or is there enough about it to run it as your only car?
Very smart, trust you're enjoying it. Mine has turned up, will post pics after delivery, can't wait...

Hi Guys,
I received delivery of my Turbo PP last week, extras include Volcano Grey metallic, full red leather with contrasting stitching, heated seats all round with crests, carbon trim, carbon heated steering wheel, pano roof, sport mirrors, aluminium roof rails, stainless front & rear skid trays and possibly other stuff I've forgotten about, oh yeah..... 21" wheels
Anyway, a few photos for you after the Gtechniq ceramic coating had been applied.
Cheers,
Paul

Volcano grey, Turbo exterior pack, Turbo interior pack (grey stitching), pano roof, alcantara roof lining, Bermester, air suspension, etc. The whole process was a slippery slope, I originally ordered a GTS, then decided why not give it a nudge and get the full fat Turbo, then the PP got released so went with that, in the end man maths got me to £15k higher than the original very nice spec GTS, crazy really. I'm sure it will be awesome, latest justification to myself is it's a family friendly cut price practical 911!
My 2016 Macan SD (newer model with new sat nav) has the Bose - bang for buck it's very good, I would recommend it for sure. I haven't even heard the Bermester so can't comment on it, but I've always fancied a really top end system in a car so I hope it's good! Roll on 1st June....

Have managed to avoid Burmester so far so pls don't encourage me. Look forward to seeing some pictures once you've picked it up. What colour and main spec have you gone for?
Ours is July and we are hoping for a factory collection (which probably costs about the same as Burmester - lol)

Sounds like a fantastic spec you have there. The air suspension maybe overkill, we have it on our SD with 21's and the ride is exceptionally good, really comfortable but handles great too - for a diesel! Thanks for the 911 tip - I will avoid driving one!

Role on 1st June indeed. Sounds a lovely spec and pleased to hear I wasn't the only one creeping with the spec. You obviously know what the Macan is all about and I am positive you are going to love the extra HP of the TPP. I wonder how it will compare with torque over your current SD?
Ummed & erred over VG for quite a while but in the end decided on Night Blue Metallic with black trim/logos, carbon side blades, Spyder wheels, LED's, reverse camera, privacy glass, tinted tail lights Turbo interior pack, sunroof, white dials, carbon steering wheel and a number of other goodies, but no air.
We had a Macan GTS and found the suspension to be perfect in the sports setting. Most people only say positive things about air but as I havent had a chance to drive a car with it on, we decided to save the money for other toys. Likewise havent experienced Burmester so again drew a line on that as well. Mind you I still have 2 weeks to lockdown so plenty of last minute changes can and may still happen - LOL
It is a family sports car, and keep telling yourself itself a cut price 911! Just don't go and drive one or you'll be justifying how you can add a 911 into the garage as well! I know this from bitter experience - ha ha.

Delivery day pics! First impressions are I love it, what a car! I'm really pleased with the Turbo interior and exterior packs, the contrast with Volcano grey works really well. As with my previous Macan SD it's so well made, a really special top quality feeling car. I leave it in Sport mode most of the time which works well for reasonably spirited everyday driving (without holding the gears for too long), engine sounds much better than I expected - ultra refined yet a decent sporty note and not intrusive at all. The car is so refined that it's deceptively extremely fast as it should be! Air suspension really adds a level of sophistication to the ride, really impressive. Brakes are sublime even though I'm taking it very easy for the first few miles - the brakes on my SD were slightly grabby, the ones on this car are perfect and extremely powerful, great pedal feel.
Only one downside is the Burmester stereo - maybe for classical music it might be brilliant, but I find it completely underwhelming, in fact the Bose in my SD may have sounded a bit better. The Bose is excellent bang for buck (I highly recommend it) - for the extra £2.5k over the Bose the Burmester should blow the doors off the car, whereas it's pretty average, in fact the Beats system in my 595 Abarth at £600 sounds better IMO.
One other observation if anybody is toying between a GTS and Turbo - I don't know for sure as I haven't driven a GTS but I imagine it's the sweet car in the range bang for buck. A very similar spec GTS with Bose would have cost approx £12k less and for most of the time feel exactly the same as my car. It certainly wouldn't have quite the punch of the Turbo but it's still very quick and makes the same noise, gives the same experience, etc. Absolutely no regrets having the Turbo PP though - it's a crazy fast car and the ultimate "Mad Mac" which is what I hankered after! Just an observation re the GTS.
