Here's a liquid wrap I've just finished on my Cayman. It's sprayed on rather than vinyl wrapped and is reversible in about two hours with no damage to paintwork or trim. Not to everyone's taste, but no hate email please.

Did it myself, took about a week.

Basically you spray on layers of liquid rubber (similar to Plasti-Dip) to give you your base colour. Then I hand-painted and sprayed all the rust, mud and grime on top using various products. Decals were applied and sanded and weathered.

The beauty of this process is that it peels off like a facemask, leaving the paintwork perfect underneath with no stickiness or possible lacquer lifting that a vinyl wrap does. Plus all the grime is realistic, not printed.

Looks good Kim, very impressed. Is my memory failing me or were you going to do something similar with peppermint at some point confused

Someone had a GT4 with a Rothmans 956-esque Le Mans wrap at the 'ring this year when we were there complete with dirt, brake dust, scrapes and tyre marks on the bodywork printed on.

Someone else had a green 991 Turbo at the same even that was wrapped in the "rat look" style too, so it's obviously a thing now smile
Cheers Craig. No it wasn't me with the peppermint although I did do a light blue Rat Look 993 a few years ago.

This style has become very popular across Europe and the US and they are popping up at meetings. A company called Skepple started the Martini Look I believe but they only design the wrap, you then have to get it printed and fitted.

Nicely done but the mud, rust and grime is printed on the vinyl.

For £3000 I'd want something more authentic.

Many thanks chaps.

Thought this might be quite a good idea for Le Mans 2018.

Certainly stops the traffic.

PM me please with car details. It's about the same as a premium wrap.

I'm delighted to be exhibiting the Cayman at Nutley Sports and Prestige, a very well known and respected dealership specialising in mint condition, low mileage Classics.

Pop in to see it if you're passing. It's on the A22 in Nutley and the people who own it are charming and welcome all enthusiasts.
