1st test drive of a 997 cs2s

Hi,
Finally reached the point where I can purchase my 1st Porsche 911 (997.1) and I feel like I’m back to being 8 years of age on Christmas Eve.
Had a wobble a couple of weeks ago when the garage I visited couldn’t allow a test drive to a 2008 cs4 triptronic, due to a flat battery. On the way home stopped off at the local BM garage and test drove a 640d M-Sport coupe. Having owned 3 BM’s in the past, there is a comfort about knowing what your getting - but surprisingly (albeit to me) it left me feeling very disappointed.
More determined than ever, I called a local garage on Saturday to test drive a cs2 s, didn’t know at the time! But there was a severe lack of service history which means it’s a no no-goer, but the owner of the garage was very kind in allowing a test drive.
And what an experience it was ..... 3 days on, and I am still grinning like a Cheshire Cat it was amazing if.
Sitting in the car it felt like, it felt like ..... so comfortable.
The seats and even the driving position (I’d read that your and to shift your legs to the left as the pedals had to me moved off centre to accommodate the petrol tank), however I certainly didn’t notice.
Turning the key, what a sound 😀
It may sound silly to some, but the speed isn’t really what interests me, I actually just like the fact they are different to most cars that I can afford. But believe me, I wasn’t even out of 2nd gear and I was fully aware that this was way more powerful than any of my previous cars.
I do have a couple of question I would appreciate some help with, particularly from anyone who has been lucky enough to drive both the the standard c2 and the c2s.
1. The sound was amazing, although I really couldn’t tell the difference when I pressed the exhaust button. But how does this sound differ from the c2.
2. I found the ride quite firm, even when I played around with the button on the centre console. The road wasn’t great when I felt it the most and I could certainly live with it (happily), but is there a big difference with the non sport model?
3. As mentioned, the performance was amaIng, especially or most surprisingly in 5th ang 6th, how does this differ when compared to the 3.6?
4. For anyone who has a reasonable amount of experience with the two (3.6 & 3.8), is there one that you would recommend over the other and I what would be your reasons? I don’t mind admitting that I was swaying more towards the 3.6 because of the lower risk of bore scoring, however I also figure a 50-70k mile car that I get a ppi on is unlikely to suffer bore scoring if I treat well ie good maintenance and drive well, often and make sure it warms up before driving even moderately.
Please no one mention ims, i’m Too happy just now.

Thanks Jakesmith for you response. Re exhaust, just checked online and it doesn’t look standard, but had the two exhaust pipes on the button. Either way it sounded immense, and would love that kind of soundtrack on my future purchase. 10k wouldn’t wipe me out, but would rather not if you know what I mean, couldn’t face telling the wife and kids there would be no summer holiday for a year or two!!!. Let’s hope you have another 3000 trouble free miles. Thanks
