Been thinking about a Boxster for a while and seen this one which looks potentially interesting. It is a 2017 plate (2018 MY apparently) and not got masses of spec but does have nice wheels and the PSE. I have spoken to the OPC (Kendal whose new site will be 20 mins up the road from me), they are usually good to deal with and I bought my 911 from them many years ago so have some experience there.

Not discussed price but the car has just had its 2nd service, has 12 months mot and unusually has 12 months road tax on it (they had a sale fall through after taking a deposit hence they had already prepared the car to go). Is on at £38,995 which seems the upper end but might not be a million miles off given 2 year OPC warranty, just been serviced etc...

I have also read that the PSE is standard fit on 2018 onwards 718's, is that correct? If so then maybe this car came with it so not actually an extra.

Any thoughts welcome.

Forgot to say, it has done 25k miles which is probably the main negative for me as there are plenty around with half the miles....

Good advice! Have come to a price of £38,250 inc years road tax (£480 I think) & a full tank of petrol, which (with a bit of man maths) seems about right when you add on 2 year warranty included, just had 4 year service & 12 months mot. Hopefully 2 years relatively cheap motoring, apart from the massive depreciation.....

Cheers, WBAC price is £33k.

As has been mentioned, once you start specc'ing it up the price ramps quite quickly, as well as the wheels, pdk, switchable pse it also has Bose, cruise, ParkAssist & rear view camera and a few other bits. Maybe not a bargain but with 2 year warranty, major service & years road tax included hopefully not totally unreasonable....

Too late to worry about the price now anyway!

Hi Alex, small world indeed, I trust all is well!

I didn't think I would ever get another Porsche but you can't take it with you so why not, just don't tell the wife!

Thanks for all the feedback. Looking at the numbers, these cars are surprisingly good value to buy new. Assuming this car and spec was £55k, you could have bought it brand new 4 years ago with 3 years warranty, kept it for 4 years and sold for £35k (WBAC will currently give £33k), hence £5k a year for a brand new Porsche with only costs a minor 2 year service (assuming original tyres, didn't extend warranty and sold before 4 year service due).

Cheap as chips motoring!

Had the car a few days now, very pleased, feels much quicker and responsive than the 911 (PDK v tiptronic).

Also surprised by how great the car sounds in Sport mode with the PSE switched on, was really not expecting that....!
