Just updated my phone and have been going back through old photos. Here a few of the cars I wish I had never sold. Odd to think that I paid less for all 4 than it would cost to buy a single GT3 today. Should have tucked them all away. Hindsight and all that.

1970 2.2s
So cool. So light and nimble.

Never really gelled with this one ( a 1989 3.2). It felt too heavy after the 2.2 s. Still wish I had kept it though.

I bet that was a handful in the snow!
It was on R888s. Best fun I have ever had at 10 mph.

Ah… that was Alex’s race car - yes it’s a good job you did sell it because that became this

And allows me to say that I spanked the Stig(s) at Silverstone in the dark!

Wait - that sounds wrong… I mean in a race car
smile
Had some fun in that car.

Wow..

Mine isn’t quite as stunning…

My 2nd 968. Non sunroof - stripped - welded cage - lots of sexy engine parts - road legal.

And the 924 - a proper wolf in sheep’s clothing. 924S with the 3.0 and 6speed box from a 968, all dressed up in a 924CGT kit. ( sorry it’s the only pic I have of it on my phone )
I have been watching yours on threads. Lovely car.

Ok - Question for everyone who posted biggrin suppose there was an alternate reality whereby prices of all the cars listed as regret selling' were still broadly exactly the same as what you had sold them for.... How much less if at all would you still be regretting selling them? Not trying to ststir here (really!) but just wondering how much of the regret factor is monetary......
I had to sell to get the next one. It's my itchy feet as much as the value that upsets me. I get bored quickly. However, finances allowing, I would indeed buy them all back (except the 3.2 possibly) if they were still the same price.
For context I have had quite a few others, including 993, 928 GTS and a 964, that have all gone up in value but I don't miss them - well, now I think about it, perhaps the 964...

Great question. I sold my 964 3.6 Turbo and the 993 GT2 evo after bad builders screwed our house up and we had to redo everything again from top to bottom. This happened just post 2008 banking crisis that also screwed most people up. All the money from the cars got swallowed up by the house and more. I would buy both back tomorrow without a thought for the same money I sold them for as IMO they are two of the most stunning 911's that Porsche has ever made. I will post a couple of pictures later when I have more time
And, after thinking about this, I would buy the GT3 back at today's prices.

Fact Checked update - The yellow car here wasnt the donor for the orange car - diff yellow car - the one here ran alongside the orange car for a season maybe 2? - when Ade S and Paul F set up a mini racing team together...

Either way - special car and no, you shouldn't have sold it
Thanks. Mine was much quicker. Obviously smile

Although a bit tail happy which I never got around to dialling out - suspect rear ARB was too stiff for my style and my local track (Castle Combe). It spat me off twice on the (slight) bump at Camp Corner - nasty place to lose it if you don't catch the car cleanly as the pit wall beckons. I was a wimp and let it take me into the infield. Bad for my pride, but good for the bodywork.

Yes, I'd have it back in a heartbeat. I was using it as a daily and it needed somewhere to keep it in - I now have a garage....

That's not J120 UPB* by any chance?

  • Altered as you have blanked your plate but close enough to recognise if it is the same car wink
