My rear wing decided to go up as usual at 75mph but then stayed up and refuses to come down!

Took it to the main dealer yesterday who advised that the two hydrualic arms that lift the spoiler and the motor and wiring loom all need to be replaced. Apparently sensors are not working and one of the hydraulics is leaking.

Over £1000 in parts and a day's labour...Only motor covered by warranty.

My impression is that they are replacing the whole "kit" as they are a main dealer.

Thanks
Rob

Anyone got any experience in this? Thought I would try Camtune this afternoon to get a 2nd opinion.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Just come back from Camtune (who by the way were very helpful) and the problem is that the n/s hydraulic has leaked and drained all the fluid.

This is probably the only problem but it is quite a large job to get to it and if just the one is replaced it is apprently not very easy to bleed the whole system so will take time (hence labour) so they too suggested replacing the whole kit as its a much faster job.

There is also the risk that the o/s hydraulic may also be damaged due to the fluid neing drained so if it is not damaged there is a risk that it may break in the near future!

Intersting thing is that OPC was quoting over £1000 in parts and a days labour and Camtune advised that the parts can be bought as a kit for £650 (or individually for £1000) and will take 4 hours to fit, hence booked in to Camtune next week!

Regards,
Rob

Same. I have the extended warranty and the leak was caused due to.... wear and tear.

I'll find out on Thursday how much the warranty actually covered, so will let you know!

Regards,
Rob

why are they not covered under warranty?

is it not an official porshce one?

cheers

My OCP delight in telling me I "only" have the extended warranty - its coverage is in some ways excellent and in most others very very limited. They also maintain a "wear" get-out clause (i.e. "your anti-roll bar mounts have failed due to wear so are not covered"
