Warming up

As I'm moving over to driving my 996 everyday. It has got me wondering how long most people allow their Porsches to warm up? It normally takes 20 mins on mine to reach 3.5 at 5000 rpm - sometimes frustrating when my journey to work only takes 10mins. Does everyone follow Porsches recommendation?
