Nice comprehensive short article.

(Just one little error:

in essence the 968CS is a facelift model 944 with the MO30 sport option.

The M030 was offered as an option on the CS; it was not a standard fitment

Also the 944 Turbo was still for sale in 1991, maybe not in the UK though...)

Bullsh*t

Try a REAL 944 Turbo Cup. You will be ashamed to own a 964RS after this.

domster said:I'm sure the 944 Cup is light and powerful, but I said '911' in my original post.

Indeed, but you can't say that "only a 911 can blablabla"

An Ultima will always be a G-string to the 944's Jockey Y-fronts!!!

Re indeed, it will be a G-string to any other car actually
What is the point of Ultima in this subject?

I must admit to always fancying the 968 Turbo S, but they never made enough of them.

Err...and your point is?

domster said:There are many things a 911 can do that a 944 will never be able to do, and vice versa, Thom. Some people prefer the sound of a flat six to the drone of a four cylinder engine. Get over it[...]And what was the point of you bringing a 944 Cup car into the thread last time around?

I do not question people's liking but you certainly shouldn't throw a 911 let alone an Ultima in a thread which point is the 944, especially to write things in the likes of "only a 911 can...".

The only reason I have ever mentioned Ultimas on this forum is when people have asked me what I am going to replace a 964RS with.

Indeed, but this doesn't bring much to this thread.

Unlike you, it seems, I have a fairly open mind re Porsche ownership.

I don't see why "open mindedness" and "Porsche ownership" should be both compulsory.

Look Dom, I have dramatically reduced my postings in the PH Porsche forum, not only because I have important things to do during the day but also because you 911 guys have a good time together talking about your mobiles. As such I feel a complete foreigner and I'm sure you understand I have nothing to bring to your own motoring adventures.

So please don't come up with your "only a 911 can..."'s in a very rare 944 thread. That's a bit hurting really

AJLintern said:Has anyone ever modified a 944 with a flat6?

It wouldn't fit, the engine bay is way too narrow.
And it would sound like a bag of nails

Btw a friend is currently building a 3.0l Turbo (IMO the car the "4 cylinders" should always have been) and expects around 350 reliable bhp.
