993 Oil Leaks - Cost to Fix

Been having a look at previous threads on 993 oil leaks to try and assertain whether the price quoted by a specialist of £1200 to sort mine out is as outrageous as it seems - but can't deduce it for sure. From what I can remember, they said leaks are coming from the rocker covers and I think one of the engine seals and they're saying that it'll need the engine out to fix it. Is it possible / likely that this is necessary and, if so, is the quote reasonable?
Thanks for this. RMS was never mentioned but I suppose that's a possibility. I'd rather not name the specialist in case they're right and the quote is reasonable. When I say `specialist', they work on specialist cars including porsches as oppose to being porsche afficionados as such. Perhaps better to get a second opinion. There's no oil on the garage floor but isn't there a floorpan that catches it?
