Talking to them about a LHD 993 type car and, without asking for anything possibly slanderous, wondered if any of you have had any dealings with them.

Its just one option as I still like the 3200GT but keep getting warning noises about them rightly or wrongly.

Finally regarding 993s, are convertibles worse to drive?

Thanks - anyone had any problems switching to LHD from RHD or do you just watch for panic expressions on the passenger's faces when you want to overtake?

Thanks for your comments - they seem very helpful and so I just wanted some encouragement before possibly taking things further.

Certainly the 993s sound like brilliant everyday cars which is a concern that I had about the 3200GT.

Its just making sure that I buy the right one!

Feeling guilty now.

After asking all these questions and really getting loads of advice from you all - and Joel @ RSJ, I ended up looking at one up here and then buying an XK8 Convertible.

Ah well, what have I done? Maybe next time....
