My 996 TT went back to the dealer this week for e/o warranty check (10k miles ) - Oil leak gets investigated , engine gets stripped down and porous block is suspected - any one here had similar prob ?

Thx

2 weeks further on and the block is still away being crack tested. The OPC indicated that they've seen a porous block prob with one other 996TT (2002MY). If this turns out to be the prob with mine , then they've indicated they will replace with a new block, so no new engine in my case. However at the very least I'll be requesting an additional 2 years warranty on the engine if it gets rebuilt. I'll report back on the outcome.

Today , almost 4 weeks after my car went in I finally get confirmation from the OPC that the TT block is porous - to be replaced & the engine rebuilt over the next couple of weeks.
Porsche GB called me out of the blue last week (dealer must have informed them) - offered full standard warranty extended at no charge , free service and a loan of a Boxster S until my car is ready
