944 buying advice needed :)

hi all - Im considering buying a 1987 944 (2.5 lux i think).

Only thing that would put me off is that its an automatic. Its a very clean car though with mint leather and a nice enough looking engine bay (clean etc).

Any opinions on the auto version?

Car is going to be an audio competition car and wont be tracked/raced etc.

HA HA - not filled with ICE in the Kev kind of way. nice set of front speakers, amp, and a single lightweight sub

competition as in quality not quantity

my rover turbo doesnt have much trouble lugging it all around
