At 17.45 yesterday I picked up my first 993 Iris Blue 1995N Carrera 2. What a pretty car.

While driving it around the dark country roads I was very aware that the headlamps were not that bright, and certainly not in keeping with the performance of the vehicle. The manual says they are just 55w.

Is this a common problem? Do people just put in higher wattage bulbs? (Please tell me its NOT my eyes!!) Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks.

I'm looking to buy a similar car myself, did you by private or through a dealer?

I asked a local Porsche specialist to find me the 993. He had his usual contacts in the trade and located a main dealer with a p/x that they wanted to get rid of. Lovely car, I am very pleased with it, still finding my way around it. I have the impression that these 911s take a little time to really appreciate.

I got the car from Intaporsh, Sayers Common, W Sx. 01273 834241. The proprietor Don Malley seems a decent chap. After I had the car a couple of days I found a couple of minor bodywork problems that he has agreed to put right - can't ask more than that. He's been around more than 15 years.

He regularly brings in RS2s from Germany as well acquiring good 993s from within the trade for customers. I told him what I was looking for and my budget and a week later he called me to say he had located a car and I would have first refusal.
