Boxster depreciation: Do not be fooled by this. If you always change the car before you've done 5K miles maybe its true...actually drive it and I'll bet its a different story!
Buy expensive cars and they will depreciate expensively. Even if it is a lower percentage than that lost on a Vauxhall..

As an enthusiast I'm willing to pay to enjoy my car - anyone budgeting on buying one would be wise to do the same, I'm afraid!

The thing is, for me, if you're going to spend all that money on a car it HAS to be the one you WANT!
If that's one that will hold its value for years then so be it. If (more likely) its the damn one that will dump out horribly - so be it!
Much as I'd like the depreciation on my car to be sod all I know it isn't and I think its just best to accept that and enjoy the car.
BTW: Scottster: what models do you reckon are the best then? I'm interested. If I could run my Porsche less expensively than I do I'm not closed-minded to the idea.
