Hi, I am seriously considering getting a 911, I like the look of the 3.2's (I think the whale tail and frog-eyes look great – childhood dream car), but I have a problem:

I'm 6'7" tall and had a test drive in a 1985 coupe, I really enjoyed it, but wasn't in a driving position that I could live with for long.

I had the seat all the way back and as low as it could get, the back reclined so far I could only just get to the wheel and my head was still on the roof. Also my knees were wrapped around the steering wheel.

I was going to get a smaller steering wheel, but know that wouldn’t be enough to be able to live with the driving position; does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do to the car to make me fit?

Also, does anyone know if the newer cars have more space inside?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions... a 993 or 996 are a bit out of my price range, but I will have a look at them (just to see how much things have changed).

The car in question did have a sun roof and I do know that can reduce head height a bit, the seats were electrically height adjustable and I set it as low as possible but the idea of getting a recardo seat hadn't occurred to me. Are they much lower than normal seats?

Fergus, your suggestions sound very sensible; I may well follow that route too.
