Can you guys please confirm, I have just taxed the car via the post office mainly because I have just bought it and the tax ran out yesterday. I used the owner transfer slip which can be used once but had no details on it and paid £460 for a year.
I went onto the Government site and it states £475

Glow worm thanks for all the information, and everybody else, I have today been able to go through all the threads and sort out a letter to the DVLA which will be in the post tomorrow.
One point to add while I was going through the documents I have with the car there is a certificate from TVR with a serial number on it stating British National Type Approval, Ministers approval certificate for low volume motor vehicle type covered by a previous certificate. The secretary of the state for transport being satified that low volume type approval vehicle which has been manufactured by TVR Engineering Ltd and has the vehicle identification or chasis number, (my chasis number)conforms with the vehicles to which Ministers approval certificate LC333/A/034 relates.
If a scanned copy would help PM me, did everybody get one of these cert from new.
I will let you guys know how I get on.

Many thanks to you guys, just received my new log book with PLG tax class and blank on the C02 emmissions, I did exactly as instructed and they turned it round in under 4 months.
I assume I have to apply for a refund.
