Anyone have experience with both of these on the Tuscan. What are the real world differences between the shocks are?

I'll be doing about 6 track days a year so cant really justify going to nitrons. Have read other threads but no one ever really quantifies why one or the other is better.

I've heard the overall finish of the racing reds is not on par with the Gaz Golds. On top of that I beleive they are made in the far east and dont have the product support over here of say Gaz or Nitron.

Anyone confirm this..

Have been running the protechs and they were to soft for me. they did however stiffend them (without extra costs. After that they were superb.
So i would say.
Stiffend protechs can compete with nitrons but are half the price
I do live on the main land though and our roads are different. (more autobahn and higher speeds)
In the UK you guys love to drive with soft suspension(are you american related ??)

Just rubbish roads to be honest, in the last couple of years with the bad weather and cut backs its like driving on a Greek Island..

To be honest there's nothing physically wrong with my shocks, but would like some added confidence to push the car on some track days this year without unpredictable handling.

Like Robert says I think their has to be some cost benefit or value equation too. Taking that into consideration and the fact absolutely shocks will do me a good price I'm going to go for the Gaz Gold pro's. Did consider the racing reds but can't really find much in the way of review online.

Hi Matti, just looked on their website and the pro's as you say look good value, have you managed to negotiate a better than advertised price? Cheers Andrew
Hi Andrew, slightly better price than on the web. Derrick of abs shocks said he'd match an ebay price, and provide me with all the setup guidance I need... which I thought was a good deal. He has loads of experience with these cars so knows a thing or two about set ups.

Will be ordering next week once I'm back at work.

Me thinks he's wrong and we can banter this all day long, no offence but it's all down to the setup.
correct. Once iv fitted them I'll be taking a day off to go with Dereck to have the geometry and corner weighting done at the same place they set up the club msv cars. I have every confidence the car will be spot on, they have plenty of experience doing this.

The initial problems experienced with Gaz Golds were rectifed some time ago. I beleive the Gaz Gold Pros are an evolution further.
And the thread "warning Gaz Golds" was started in 2009...

That'll keep you quiet for a few hours then smile.

Look forward to feedback.
Although if it keeps raining like it has, settling them in before geometry and corner weighting may take several years.

Done about 100 miles and the shocks have settled and ride height re-adjusted. Theyre not harsh and seem to ride well apart from feeling a slightly springy.
The geometry and corner weighting is going to be done by bubble and kick.

Mind you they couldnt be any worse than what was on the car....
