TVR TUSCAN mkl boot kid not opening

The boot lid on my TVR TUSCAN is not opening. when depressing the Tuscan badge nothing happens. There’s no usual noise from the solenoid. It’s always been weak and required 3/4 attempts to get the lid open but now it’s failed. Any ideas on how to get in manually? I desperately need to fill her up.

I would love to drive to you all to show you my lovely TVR Tuscan and proof of vehicle ownership. But I don’t have enough fuel because I can’t get in the boot to fill her up!!!!

Joking aside, Don’t worry, the guys at Bespoke Performance know me well and I have now spoken to them. I was caught out on the weekend and they were closed so I thought I would reach out to the wider group of Pistonheads.

OK. Managed to get inside the boot!!
What’s the trick with a 2p coin? I’m intrigued.

PS. Has anyone any knowledge of replacing the boot latch solenoid. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s failed in this case.
