Happy New Year everyone! - here we go -

I'm that close to buying a Tuscan - I think i'm going for the S, it might be new it be used, ho hum!

It comes down to this bloody colour question again and again...I've searched thru the posts and it's still difficult to settle on a really cool colour (i'm sounding like my misses now buying a blouse!)

I saw a Tuscan yesterday that was a chameleon Pink(and blue) it looked like an oil slick - it was just awesome as the yanks say. But I can't really see myself driving round in that unless i was pedalling women or drugs! I like the S in black but i think Tuscans maybe look better in lighter colours - OH GOD!(you plonka just settle for anyone of them)

Can anybody with a black one (eh up) tell me if they struggle with scratches and wash marks ? Do they look s****y really quick because of the dark colour ?

This then decides wether I save a shed load of money and go with a used one (i hear the rattle of all those of you with your cars for sale!!), or pick THE VERY colour and buy new (ok with a wait!)

Mr Sixspeed wots the colour of your motor by the way ?

any suggestions would be great (even 'please...get of the forum for god's sake' will be fine)

thanks

This is good people!

hut49 where did you see this motor ?

I agree with CraigAlsop about the new feeling (but then that wears off after a couple of weeks anyway and the car becomes yours, even with the previous owners dog sick in the footwell!) but i'm sure your right about the re-painting of the more complicated colours, my worry still includes the difficulties of keeping deep/dark colours looking good with road dirt, and scratches you end up with from car washing; however careful you are about your sponge!

TVRlover can you spray armourfend as a retro-fit ?

Top link Mr Lucca, thank you

Keep it coming girls!

You will probably end up polishing it quite a lot anyway, so don't worry about it...

carbon black looks good, thank you Craig for the armourfend advice - yeah that's the last thing i want, and i guess if it's painted in a flat colour you just get it resprayed like i do with my Chim

Mick is this BM colour of the shelf or did you specify?

Sorry boys i'll give up on this one soon - just a bit excited an all

I'm no longer that close.....

I'VE DONE IT, I'VE BOUGHT A KNGIUCF TUSCAN!!!

I keep walking back outside to look at it - just in case it's changed into a porsche or something (but it hasn't ha! ha!)

It's toooootaaaalllly different to my Chim, yup doesn't sound as good - but does it drive well, I love the control and well...ok...

(((((THE POWER!)))))

bought it private off here, big trouble now is it needs a bdolyo service - 12K one. I've looked through the posts (and searched) but can't find a good idea of what this should cost ? (tappets and all ?)

sssssh...I think i'm about to take it up the botty biG time from the dealer who has just quoted me

any ideas Tuscan people ?

many thanks guys 'n guls and all that metal (well GRP)

It's so difficult to marry the right colour(s)
- 16 million true colour!! -
with the right interior colour - some of you guys have some pretty strange specs (to me anyway)
Then you find the right colours but the interiors trashed, or the cars been hammered
On and on and on and on....

In the end rightly or wrongly I went for the 2001 Y plate that was advertised here on the classifieds:-

SAVE £15000 FROM NEW 2001/y
SOLD VIA PISTONHEADS.COM 11 days old
ref: 7286

11,750 miles. GTS BLUE, PORTLAND/NIMBUS LEATHER INTERIOR, DARK BLUE WOOL CARPETS, 18" WHEELS, TRACKER, 6 DISC FACIA MOUNTED NAKAMICHI CD PLAYER, FTVRSH, ONE OWNER

Price: £28,000

It's GTS blue and is completely A1 condition MINT (no that's not the colour..)
There was a time when I was going for an 'S' but then i may as well have bought new and get my own spec
But my head ruled my heart and i couldn't face all that depreciation (sorry people)

I brought it home and the wife and the eldest said 'Oh no! don't like that colour' - KFUC OFF!
(so you can't b****y win)

Took it to a dealer (new to me) for it's 12k service, and there in the showroom was in my opinion the perfect spec Tuscan, new of course so forget that, better to shut your hand in drawer hard

All that said, very, very, pleased with it - very different to my Chim but thats what it is, still love that V8 rumble, then again the weird and varied noises coming from the Tuscan, not to mention the beeps and sh*t, are beyond books and highly entertaining

Mainly I like the drive - it's a drivers car. As to the colour, who knows, maybe one of these nights i'll wake in a panic about that
(but i'm pragmatic about it, so no need for any of you to say 'oh no it's great...(not!)'

i'd better stop ranting! In reality my pathetic spoilt child rant is ridiculous - we must be amongst the luckiest people on the planet (the years I wanted a decent motor and now i'm getting choosy..huh! wnakre!)

Pics will be on there way as soon as i get it back from it's service - after my lie down and heart pills, then i'd better get out there and drive it plenty - DRIVE IT - DRIVE IT - DRIVE IT - DRIVE IT

..and try and meet up with some of you somewhere as well!!

thanks for asking anyway

cheers
