I wonder if anyone can give me tips or advce on the price I should expect to pay for a used Tuscan "S". I've seen several for sale at dealers for around the £42-44k mark (51 plate cars). However I think I could probably buy a new one for not much more (after haggling for some discount - no part-ex). Therefore paying early forties for a car which will soon be 2 years old does not, in my view, represent good value for money.

However, unless there have been SIGNIFICANT updates then I'd rather buy a car which has been run-in and de-bugged.

Question is what is the right price to pay for a 51 plate 4k to 6k mileage car??

Also anyone know of any for sale privatley???

Many thanks

I think I'd really baulk at paying £45k for a used car, albeit one with only 1600 miles, when I could no doubt negotiate a good discount on a brand new vehicle to my specification.

I have really lost some significant money on TVR's in the past, and much as I love them I'm loathed to pay a huge amount now, only to be bid in the nuts at trade in time!

Drive a new 911 out of the showroom and you will lose £5k immediatley and then lesser amounts over the following months - I know I've done it often enough. However eventually the depreciation tails off and the cars represent good value.

Tuscan's (certainly dealer versions) seem to adopt an inverse depreciation model whereby depreciation is very light for a period and then drops off a cliff very suddenly!

I'd rather be buying the car just AFTER it's fallen off the cliff rather than just BEFORE!

Like it or not today's £45k "nearly new" Tuscan S is, in eight months, a "used" £30k "bargain"!

Have already seen two early "S'" go for sub £35k (both with 13,000 miles) at dealers ! However neither were my colour choice. My estimate of cars being sub £30k in eight months time (as we approach another winter) is therefore valid.
