Porsche/Audi offer great build Q, far better back up, but did you see Autocar got +35 MPG out of a mannel shift 911 !!!!!!

The Next Cayman is going to KILL everything in its path....& thats before the high tec Flat 4 Twincharged Turbo arrives !!!!

Lotus can only offer yesterdays Tec & Build Q.

Why fit a GTR engine in a Lotus to fight for sales against a GTR????

Renualt sales are down 30% this year, buying Lotus is the LAST thing they need to do. They got Alpine & Gor-di-e etc, they going to shutting factory very soon.

I see NO future for Lotus, they failed to make a profit for the last 20 years or so......they need a "Sugar daddy"....but what would the Sugare daddy get in return???

I heard ALL this before with TVR, They DEAD!

This means Proton is about to give Lotus the sack........about Bloody time. They might try to "Float" Lotus, only to watch it sink like a brick!....Why buy an Espirt when the R8/911 or even GTR is already there?

Elise?........Both Toyota & Scobby have the (same) answer not to mention lots of cheap Hot Hatches.........

Nope (snigger) they stuffed like Turkey!

"Look what Aston have achieved "

I think your find they are in the same boat.

Trouble is fast is not enough, you need cutting edge tec, low CO2 BIG MPG....Look at what the new 911 can do & its cyinder on demand/ its KERS system is not yet ready.

Both Lotus & Aston use alloy beam tubs, very high tech....in the 90's. Carbon tubs are the way & neither Lotus or Aston can afford the R+D.

Porsche did the unthinkable & built that 4X4, everyone screamed, Porsche cleaned up. I hate it & i hate the 4 door...but They make money. I think your find BMW are making money & Audi (Whom own Porsche or rather VAG own them both) Made LOTS of money.......

They have the best engineers the best budgets for R+D......DSG gearbox is theirs.......

Lotus has lost money since Proton took over & Proton invested in them.

Mike

Yes, trackday & sunday cars..........they can't stand toe 2 toe with VW. If they so good as to make a car with suspension that doesn't collaspe, that would be "Helpful" as well.

Sorry to upset you all, but having spoken & warned an Elise owner about the suspension problem only for him to be dead 3 hours later does tend to stick with you.

I for one will be delighted when Lotus see the light & scale back to track day cars, nothing more.

Yes, he was an America, nice guy, nice Mom, Nice sister, nice girlfriend........i talked to him often & i waned him (& other) of the problem.....he chatted to me, asked if i like to phone him & went for a drive...

Later i saw the news up on the US BB that an Elise had crashed & driver killed...it was him. From what we know he was coming back down a road with a few slight curves brisk but not fast.....suddenly his Elise "snapped" sideways into the path of a Pick up truck used by the local eletric company.

The pick up driver tried to brake etc but he was towing a heavy equipment thus limted....he ran over the top of the Elise....He died like Rinit.
