I HAVE JUST HEARD NEWS TODAY (WHERE HAVE I been ?) that is beneficial to all UKs motorists.
A petition has been started because Owen Mc---------- is demanding that the Government should
enforce cyclists to obtain insurance cover No more no less. This is a benefit to drivers who are the subject of reduced
rights as in many counties in the UK.
This petition brought by 'CHANGE .org' a free petition website has been signed by more than 37 000 individuals in
approximately two weeks.
Although this petition has not been heralded by a fanfare of trumpets it will gain credibility if the majority of the UKs'
33 million drivers see it for what it is ---for their benefit and for that of equality.
As usual a lot of flak has been directed towards the petitioner by cyclists who show their ignorance and dislike for the
petitioner and the suggestion they should be made to have insurance cover. Cycling is dangerous but many cyclists do not
think it is dangerous at all. Even golfers I'm told have to have third party liability as do many other sports that involve
the possibility of accidents happening.
One item of the learning curve of life that will ensue is that the irresponsible riders will have much to pay
which is entirely justifiable. Those safe riders on the other hand will get a discount on their insurance cover so as well
as saving the planet they will be able to give themselves a pat on the back as do us drivers when we do not have
accidents and do not ever drive into or over anyone!
