It seems my Cerbera ownership may have been cut quite a lot shorter than I had planned.
Last Wednesday night whilst taking the car to a unit for a guy to do some work on it, I exited a roundabout and a nano second later it was sliding up the road over a kerb and into a lamppost can't remember much after that bit hazy. Anyway 4 days in hospital and I'm home again.
I've not seen the car but judging from the fact my feet were jammed together in the footwell I'm not expecting good news from the repairer. I know the screen is broken and I've seen a picture which shows the door is bent below the door mirror which I guess explains why the a-post came in to the footwell.
Anyway end result undisplaced fracture of the tibia, 6 cm laceration on the back of my head and a fractured skull. I did hear something about a small bleed in the skull but I can't find anything in the discharge notes about it and a rather sorry looking Cerbera.
I will now await the result from the insurance company.
But it was epic fun before Wednesday night . Very difficult car to replace.

Barrington yep that's the car please thank the first aid man I vaugely remember him saying that he had only done his first aid course that day!!
Thanks for all messages it's really appreciated. I've said it before but this really is a friendly forum.
The road was particularly wet and it was out of shape in a nano second.
I don't have an agreed value so I'm going to search the net for some comparable examples and wait for the offer from the ins co. The values are so far apart it's not an easy car to put a market value on but I'll have to wait and see.

Thanks again
Clive

Hi Tim
Yes I'd not had it long and had worked my way through the list of jobs that needed doing, ironically the replace dash trim in stainless and the chassis guards were posted out the following day. The tyres hadn't done much more than around 70 miles in the dry so they were ok . The approach to the road is a little bumpy and I think all the water and the bumps just upset it and with a sniff of throttle - the perfect storm.
It quite odd a friend of mine who I used to race motor bikes with for years , recently had a car crash and was really hurt badly I said to him recently that bikes were safer than cars. I didn't think that days later I would find that out for myself. In 15 years of road racing only a broken elbow and sprained thumb.
Anyway I'm looking around for a replacement I've still got some new headlamp reflectors and bits knocking around and I've gained a heap of knowledge on these cars. I'd only just had the alarm and immobiliser replaced by Carl and Dab radio fitted just getting it to fit me really.

Regards
Clive

Byker28i you are indeed correct bike riders do I've lost count of the tyres ive had to scrub in on track and road. There's nothing like scrubbing in fresh tyres in morning practice when the tracks damp to get your attention and sharpen your ability to feel for grip!
Rear tyres were fully scrubbed fronts not so much I just think it was the wet road, bumps, lack of steering lock just unfortunate all at the same.
DJR7 yep onwards and upwards I wanted a car that wasn't full of technology and was a bit of fun. The TVR ticks all the box's for fun and lack of techno. I'm undecided what's next I'll have to wait till the ins co come back with a repair or total loss.
I still fancy a V8
