mangicour lead

bought some beautiful mangicour leads (uprated) for the cerb a few years ago.

Had no problem till this weekend when I have started a service on the car. Unfortunately the metal end of the lead was left on the plug when I pulled the lead off (number 3) plug

This is a bit annoying as there is no obvious fix for it and you can't seem to buy the leads as single item. The rubber cover and the lead are stuck inside somehow so the only way to recrimp it on is to split the rubber and then glue it back up or buy a whole new set. Anyone got any better ideas?

Ended up slicing down to get to the faulty connection and then using rubber glue to put them back together.

I can see why they'd be associated with a misfire because they don't give the normal satisfying click when you put them on the plug head, and the large amount of rubber at the plug end does slightly interfere with the plug hole so it all takes far long than it should.

I have a current sensor on an oscilloscope (I yeah I know its anal to the point of sadness), and that tells you a lot about whether you have an insulation leak or a plug problem.

I'm happy hat when the manicour leads are properly on they are superior to the standard leads. So my problem is sorted for now, car running better than ever.
