I have been searching for a 4.5 in either standard or RR variant for a while now.

Can't seem to find a mint example which isn't being heavily marked up by dealers.

Are there any other avenues to find a nice one?

Where do owners typically advertise private sales? TVR CC?

Thanks for any advice.

Thekraken, thanks for your thoughts. Not condescending at all.

I was thinking up to £30K but there are some seemingly high mileages ones being advertised on PH in the £30-40K range!

I am not an expert by any means so would appreciate any thoughts on what an appropriate budget should be.

Fair question on mileage.

For a mint example, I would think sub-25K miles, i.e. driven enough so that the car gets a good run periodically but not used as a daily driver?

Understood.

My car history is varied (see below) but it seems like the TVR is a different animal!

2007 Audi RS4
1979 Ferrari 308 GTB
2009 AM Vantage V8
2008 Audi R8 V8
2007 Audi TT
1985 BMW 325

Very helpful comments, thanks.

Coincidentally, the RR at Str8six is one I've been following since it was being prepared.

At that price point though, you'd be able to pick up a F Type which arguably has similar levels of drama as the Cerbera given its misfires and exhaust setup.

Some or most of you might consider that blasphemy of course!

More importantly, is the premium for the RR worth it given you can replicate the setup by using a standard 4.5 as I understand?
