Hi all,

Just in case anyone dosnt have Facebook and follow our page we’re back!

So the news you have all been waiting for.....

This year will see the return of the Cerbera!

Today we have confirmed our entry into the GT Cup Championship.

The car will stay in a very similar state of tune to when it last raced, we have new suspension and a different tyre set up to help us find some lap time. The 4.7 AJP will be used as always but with a new engine a management system from Syvecs, this will be coupled to a new lower ratio differential to give some extra drive out of the corners.

We will also be entering a few rounds of the UK Time Attack for some extra fun and Jap rivalry! Should be quite an experience.

We will quite possibly announce a passenger day at Brands Hatch so keep checking the page......

Just in case anyone wants to be involved we have the bonnet and both doors available for any advertising 😉.

The first race meeting is at Donington Park on the 21st of April, then Brands Hatch and then of to Spa Francorchamps.

I will post a more detailed calendar including the races we will be entering in the mk1 Escort and the Bowler once our first test sessions are completed. CerberaV8Racing 3 cars and 14.1 litres of AJP power! Can’t wait for the 2018 season!

All our updates and calendar can be found on our Facebook page Cerberav8racing.

It’s been a while and would be great to see some Cerberas at the race meetings!

Cheers
Mike

Fantastic! The Youtube footage is some of the most gripping racing I have seen, so I hope you are still going to post on there. Have you considered a crowd funding initiative to support your efforts?
At the moment all my effort is going into getting the car ready for early testing, Powers Performance have already helped out and I’m hoping to attract some more financial help along the way.

The YouTube channel will get each race uploaded including all the other stuff we’re doing with the Bowler and the Escort.

Cheers

Syvecs make a great product, the main reason is for easier and more exact mapping, with the added benefit of being able to add lots of features if we choose to. Such as knock control, flat shift and bloopers for a sequential gearbox etc.

A couple of updates that I have posted on the Facebook page.

The New Carbone Lorraine Rc8R pads have arrived which look awesome worth their cooling veins.

We will be running the CL pads all round this year, they really do make a difference.

Also our Carbon wheel have arrive back from Reverie after being refurbished. They have done a great job! Just a shame they won’t stay this nice for long..... the first bit of car to car contact will see to that!

Things are starting to gather momentum now, the first race being at Donington on the 21st of April.

Hi all,

Sorry for not posting on here after the crash, I put it all up on Facebook and forgot to add it on PH.

I’m all good and the car is already sitting on her new chassis. Lots still to do but the ambitious aim for the cars next outing will be the time attack round at Brands on the 24th of June.

Thanks

Not going to be happening unfortunately. The new pedal box has been delayed so won’t be with me until next week which has meant I’m unable to do any of the other work until they arrive.

So the rebuild is coming along but more slowly than originally planned. I decided it wasn’t worth rushing the rebuild as we had been help up by parts etc.

However things are starting to speed up again.

The new chassis is finished and on the car with the roll cage welded back in. Next will be a complete re wire. The new pedal box has arrive and is a real work of art. Also over 10kg lighter than the original unit!

The plan will be to have the car back on track this year at some point.

On a positive note the MK1 Escort is going brilliantly with the 4.7 and we had a really good outing at brands veering a handful of Tuscan challenge cars etc. Managing a 52.8 on road tyres!

Anyway here is some pedal porn...

Hopefully I will have more updates soon.

So it has been a long old road but we are almost ready for the 2019 season!

As you can expect when a car looked like this...

In the picture above everything should be pointing straight at the camera not at a 45 degree angle!

Lots of changes have been made as this was the perfect opportunity to do so, complete rebuild, new chassis and cage, redesigned front aero, new front suspension mounting points for the 4 way Ohlins, loads of weight lost from the front bodywork (all now single skin with anything structural in honeycombs aluminium) A much more aggressive exhaust set up (4 into one with very large primary’s in both length and diameter) Much lighter floor mounted pedal pedal set up with a completely redesigned brake system. The car has also grown another 2 inches in width so now almost a foot wider than a standard cerb!

New Chassis

Body Work Completed

Exhaust, suspension and new bodywork designs

The plan is to be testing on the 23rd of April with the car going off to Syvecs next week for some ecu magic to make the most of the new exhaust system including an injector change and some other electronic wizardry that is beyond me...

There is still time for something to go wrong and miss our deadlines but the plan is that the first race will be on the 6th of May at the TVR Festival at Castle Coombe. It’s going to be a busy 3 weeks!

As always follow the Facebook page @ cerberav8racing for more regular updates and videos etc.

Mike

Not sure why the pictures have rotated.....

Has our first test session on Tuesday. Car is running well and all the teething problems seem to be sorted.

One more test day and then our first race back is on the 6th of May at Castle Coombe in the TVR Festival.

Was good to have another cerb out on track at Brands this Tuesday!

Thanks for that,

Yes a much better start than last year! Car is going well. A few tweaks still needed on the front suspension to find some more consistency and a few little niggles.

Next race will be at Sneterton the 26th of May.
