Anybody have a set of old 4.5 centre pipes?

Only asking because I currently have the ACT big bore system on my 4.2, which is great for car meets and short blasts. However I would quite like the option to put on a more civilised exhaust. I have found an original 4.5 back box and I have the ACT adjustable length silenced decats, so I should be able to fit the back box.

I know ACT have them available at £250 and I would get those if the back box I had was from a 4.2.

This is what I have at the moment, with ACT stainless manifolds:



It is 105db at 4k revs (metre from the exhaust at 45 degrees) and it is 85db inside the car at 70mph!

Not totally sure what you mean, but even though the pistons/cylinders are offset, the ends of the manifolds where the catalysts join are in line. Presumably one of them has a slightly longer overall length

Hi Rafal,

I think they are a different diameter to the inlet pipes on the 4.5 back box that I have, but I'm sure I could put a sleeve on them to get them to size. It would also enable me to fit my 4.2 cats back in at MOT time
