Alarm problems
Discussion
Hello
I have reconnected the battery (Cerbera SP6) but the fobs do not have any effect. If I remove the negative lead from the battery then an alarm goes off - this ones not too loud but continues after I have removed the positive lead as well. If I then reconnect the negative lead a louder alarm goes off. I have read that the key fob should be pushed down when connecting the negative cable to re connect with the car but this hasn’t helped!
The indicators also blink twice when connecting the battery.
Battery is 1 year old and fully charged.
Can I check the key fobs function? New batteries probably.
Also the drivers window has now closed after being left open.
Would appreciate any tips on what to do next.
Thank you
Martin

Hello Paul
Thanks for the bday wishes......
And for the process.... I will first change the batteries in the fobs........lockdown has ended today so I can get to an electrical place that has these batteries just in case they are flat.
Will give it another go today, yesterday was not a good day to have alarms constantly going off even if I have good neighbours.
Cheers
Martin.

They are too specialized for our supermarkets....got some from the diy store. Changed them but still no joy unless I put them back in the wrong way!
Seems I need to do a reset to get the fob to work with the alarm...which from what I’ve read means pushing the fob when connecting the battery. I just hate it when the alarm goes off unexpectedly. Yes I have found out about the aux battery, it’s not as loud but I cannot seem to stop it - after two or three goes it stops itself.
Cheers

So after getting in touch with Carl Baker we checked the alarm and immobliser wiring via video link which was confirmed as knackered.
Carl made a new loom and sent it with the new immobliser and alarm for me to install.
The installation went through okay - Carl showing great patience through the video link as I learnt a bit about Cerbera electrics, re-wiring and soldering.
The car is now running again and if anything the electrics in general seem to be performing better!
We also identified a problem with the drivers side reed switch which I ordered two off from eBay and have that as a job to do.
Cannot recommend Carl highly enough - a fountain of knowledge and thorough working practices.
Cheers.
