Advice please: Evaporator Cerbera 4.2 AJP

I am now busy on the aircon system. I got out the 2 long hoses that run through the fender. Just want to have new ones. Looking at the top of the evaporator box, i do not know what to do. It is covered in a tar subtance and i have the feeling there is Google's new hose centre beneath it.

I want to have all the hoses renewed. What is underneath. Just 2 little hoses that go to the evaporator wehich can be renewed easily or is it a lot more?

Is it worthwile to renew......?

Peeling the tar away a bit, I saw that this was copper pinig. So, I covered it again and changed the 2 long aircon hoses.
