I need to replace the tyres on my car as they extremely old....the bridgestone potenza speed-rating fom that period (ZR) is meanwhile aged /obsolete

front 225/45 R16, rear 245/45 R16

all tyres i can find have speed-index "W" (up to 270km/h / 168mph)...the Cerb has a max-speed of 184mph/ 296km/h, so needs speed-index Y...but i cannot find tyres in above size with speed-index Y.

i dont want to open a discussion "why you need Y?"...i need it for a certain reason.

i can only find Pirelli for the front (over 400,-€ per tyre) and Pirelli or Michelin for the rears, 270 or 370,-€ per piece

as the car needs to remain original...incl. its original wheels i have to find a different solution....

I had to move to 17 inch wheels due to this problem.

You could buy W rated tyres though, and just don't exceed 168mph?

Nankang AS2 for ~100
the problem is that the car is in process for homologation outside UK...and the local paperwork of the car will also state the max-speed...which is around 300km/h..so, unless the approval-engineer cannot be convinced to "reduce" the max-speed on his report to, lets say 250km/h, i will have a tyre problem.

by the way: the local paperwork also states the exact measurements of the wheels (D, W and offset), the wheel manufacturer or modell, the suspension fitted (e.g. GAZ, Spax, Bilstein) and even the height of the coil platforms and coil-rate (if there is a number on the coils) and the coil-colour.
furthermore the paperwork will also state the noise (static and driving) and i need an exemption for a smaller number plate, as the car was originally built for japan and thereofre the recess in the rear-bodywork is squaric for the typical small japanese reg.plate.

at the end of the day i will only use this car for the typical local sunday blast.....so even a H-Index tyre would be more than sufficiant laugh
