I've just been on the FOC website and noticed the Ferrari Challenge is at Donnington on Sunday 1st September.

It's been billed as the "Italian Festival" so I'm hoping there should be a few things on - I've never been before so I don't know what to expect. Any ideas?

Is anybody planning on going to this event?
Cheers,
Jay.

Here's hoping for a fine dry day hey

Seems like there's a few things going on during the day, so it should be a good day out.

Kevin: Sounds like the perfect start to your trip. If you decide to go along, which car you planning on taking? I'd love to take a look at the 360. Nudge nudge wink wink

Is anyone planning meeting up at the event?
Cheers,
Jay.

Kev, Glad the "Entertainment Director" () aggreed. Just need to clear things with mine now - shouldn't be a problem though.

I really appreciate you taking the 360. I class it as one of my all time favorite cars, and it will make a nice change to be able to see one up close and personal instead of in a magazine or through a window. Thanks again

How do we go about arranging meeting times, places etc?

Kevin - 10:30 is fine mate.

I'd have been there at 7:00am if you'd have wanted. It's not everyday you get an offer to take a spin in a Ferrari is it

I'd better bring a bib and a packet of kleanex - wouldn't want to ruin the leather by drooling all over it.

Thanks again Kev for making a dream come true.
Roll-on 1st September.

Cheers,
Jay

Nev - Check out the link at the start of this topic. It's a time table of the events throughout the day. Hope this helps.

Manu - You can't believe how much I'm looking forward to this. I'm already counting down the days & hours. I just know I'll be grinning like a cheshire cat for weeks after

Are you planning to go to Donnington yourself Manu?

Kev - I wouldn't worry too much about "Old Mans Tits"

Not when you've got petrol pumping through them varicose vains Sorry mate I couldn't resist that one.

I take it we'll be going for a leisurely spin then. NOT

Just out of interest Kev - What's the spec on your 360?

Kev,

I have received your e-mail - Just haven't had time to reply to it yet (Work commitments).

I'll send you a reply asap - ok.

Are you having a sports exhaust fitted to the 360 then?
Cheers,
Jay.

Raceboy - I've just had a quick look at the map link for meeting up on the 1st Sept.

You said in your previous post that the service station is on the A42. However there's an arrow (not sure what it is for) pointing at the A453.

Can you just confirm whereabouts the service station is exactly.

Thanks in advance.
Jay.

P.S. Is there anybody else meeting up at this location?

Ahhhhhhh you mean the BIG (S) for Service Station. I see it now Doooohhhhhhh It's a good job I asked otherwise I'd have been taking a long drive down the A42!!!!!

Kevin:
1. What time did you have in mind?
2. Being a none Ferrari owner I'll have to make do with 'ordinary car parking' and the odd burger van instead of Ferrari Hospitality. Unfortunately

Hi Raceboy,

Yep, not long till Sunday. I'm realy looking forward to it. Should be an excellent day. The fact that Kev has kindly offered to take me for a "Spin" in the 360 has nothing to do with it

Unfortunately I'm not able to make the Saturday as well - Wife & Kid to think about too

Will you be taking the Tiv ???? I 'might' be in the market for one of these and wouldn't mind catching up with someone whos taken the plung. If it's ok with you that is

Kev:
I know we originally planned meeting at 10:30, but didn't you want to make it earlier ???? I apologise if you have already sent me an e-mail with new times etc, but my hotmail account is being a pain-in-the-ass at the moment, and therefore I haven't been able to access it.

Any ideas on a time? I'm flexible so it's what ever suits you best.
Cheers,
Jay.

In true TVR fashion
Yeah, It would be nice to meet up and have a chat about the joys & pitfalls of Tiv ownership. I know I want one, the misses knows I want one, I could just about afford one - I just need convincing

Kev:

Yeah 9:15ish is fine mate. I'll be there no problems. Early starts are part of the course with the little nipper waking up at 6:00am every morning

Should I send you my mobile number off-line. That way you can get in touch should anything crop up?
Jay.

As Kevin has already said it was a truly fantastic day. Not just the race day itself, but for the opportunity to meet fellow PH'eders (Who are all a sound punch of people) and then take a blast in Kev's glorious 360.

I could go on for days, weeks even months trying to explain just how fantastic that car is, but I probably couldn't do it justice. Now I fully understand what you guys mean when you talk about Ferrari Passion. Being a huge fan of Ferraris (especially the 360) this was a dream come true for me - and boy oh boy it didn't disappoint. From the moment it fired up to the moment we stopped it is a memory that will live with me forever.

I remembered that Ninja and Manu said I would enjoy this ride - Little did I know how much of an understatement this was.

This is what was going through my mind at the time:

1: me this is FAST.
2: me what a NOISE.
3: me we can't make that bend.
4: me we just made that bend.
5: me brake..........Oh-my-God we braked. Eye balls out of socket job
6. I WANT ONE, PLEASE CAN I HAVE ONE.
7: And so it went on..........

I'm still shaking even now as I think about it. Not through fear, through pure adrenaline

I was totally blown away by this car. Not just by its sheer dynamics, but for Kevs control over the beast. Both complimented each other brilliantly.

KEV:
You're a star. Thank-you once again for your kind generosity. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope we can do it again soon.

MANU:
Although we've never met. I still want to shake your hand and thank you for introducing the Tubi to the UK. I've read many many times how good a Ferrari sounds, but nothing prepared me for that. The low-end burble right the way through to the high-end shriek. WHAT A SOUND. When I followed Kev to donington I could feel my insides rumbling away. I fully understand why you guys go tunnel hunting. In fact, I'd say that Kev's car even sounded better than the 360 challenge cars. Would you agree?

NINJA:
I to have already found myself trying to emulate the sounds of Kev's car. Everyone thinks I'm nuts - but they wouldn't understand.

EVERY OTHER FERRARI OWNER:
Fit a Tubi. SIMPLE AS THAT !!!!!

RACEBOY:
Sorry we missed you. We did wait honest, and I did keep an eye out for you. Maybe next time.

Sorry of the longish post. But it had to be done.
Jay.

Jay - didn't I tell you that Kevin would give you a ride that you'd never forget. As I said - he's the consumate performance driver and knows that 360 to within the nearest millimetre.

I'm still gob-smacked by the whole experience of it all Manu. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to be quite sooooooooo good.

Your absolutely right regarding Kev's driving ability. Spot-On. No fuss, No hassle just a bloody good driver who knows both his own & the cars ability. Both of which are staggeringly high

KEV: If there's a spare seat going at the Ferrari F1 team - I'm sticking your name forward mate
