I blame you lot.

I am having a test drive of a 355 Spider tomorrow because of you lot. Why oh why did I look at this forum. My accountant has disowned me...

I am keeping the Porca but need an open top beasty to enjoy for the next few months.

Can someone suggest some decent insurers, I want to leave my no claims on my 911 so it may be tricky getting a non stratospheric price.

Though in my current abode i dont have a garage, i will have to start to look for one.

Its going to have the nicest most special fandabadozy car cover to keep it snug and dry.

Well, I went, test drove....
Collect the car at the weekend.
Very very different to drive than my Porsche.

Now i understand why you all go on about tunnels.

Its a 1999 Red Spider Cream leather with red piping.
12000 miles and beautiful.

Ninja,
i saw on another thread that you were after a yellow 355 spider. My dealer had a 1998 yellow spider, 15k miles.

Belts were done in December.. which is a relief.

The Yellow is up 4 75k but its at the dealer on SOR so they will take offers.

Kev,
I will take the 360 spid replacement. I want to own one and say that I didnt lose a bundle on it like have on every other car I have owned except the 911 or hopefully the 355.

I havnt been asked to place a deposit on any of the cars i have on order, just letters of intent. I imagine the dealership know I am mad enough to take them.

996 turbo cab
996 Turbo S
996 replacement turbo
360 replacement spider

I have realised though these cars are reall expensive the cost of ownership only reall comes down to depreciation which if the are in demand is almost nil.
(thats what i tell the bank anyway lol)

I am still sorting out the insurance but it looks like my first trip in the car will be saturday, from Colchester to Brighton. Any weather reports?

Roll on Saturday...

Just to keep you lot informed and because i am as excited person can be and still have my clothes on.

I have had a quote for insurance for £1213 for unlimited mileage. This is with my noclaims staying on my 911 and a normal excess. I am stunned all the other quotes were at least twice as much.

Right,
I went to bed at 3 as i was too excited.
Got up at 6.30 as i was too excited.

The car is a dream!!!

One thing I have already noticed is the friendly way the car is greeted by almost everyone. My Porca isnt so warmly cheered.

Steve,

the car is great.

Not having a garage is a pain as i have to kep taking the cover off. Left it off last night and the car was covered in condensation today, I had to mop it up before i left for work.

Driving wise its great, very different in feel from my 996tt. The clutch is harder but i really like the roughness of it if that makes sense, a no compromise no nonsense experience with 2 fingers up at modern ergonomics. When i get in the porca after driving the rari it feels i have entered a Limo its so comfy in comparison.

Its very very thirsty as well.

Rich

Ninja,

I would assume most Porsche and Ferrari buyers were highly likely to become repeat customers if treated well. I can never understand how bad customer service or outright lies can help a business. My dealer I feel has treated me great, and I would really congratulate them. Even though I know that their moivation is the cash at the end of the day.

Dealers should be in general more honest, I know thats unlikely as a cold spell in a certain place but honesty has a huge impression on my buying habits.

Guys,

I came home from work yesterday and found that my front door was damaged. To cut a long story short it seems that some scroat has tried to break in and make off with my keys.

What i need is suggestions of dogs danglies security systems that i can install to give me some peace of mind.

Cheers

Guys,
dont want to really go into details on here, but does anyone have any contacts that would be able to do a quick look up on a number plate for me.
