Hi All,

I'm currently 17 years old and know nobody other than my dad who likes cars. All of my friends are either into football or drugs which I have no interest in. One thing I do have interest in is cars (hence posting on PH), more specifically, supercars. In order to stop this from sounding like an advertisement, i will stop here and leave you with some questions to reply to below.

What is your favorite car?

What is your age?

What do you drive now?

Where about's are you located?

My answers:
What is your favorite car? My favorite car would currently have to be the 991 GT3 RS.

What is your age? As mentioned above, I'm 17.

What do you drive now? I drive a Ford Ka MK2. Polish built, rather boring...

Where about's are you located? I'm located in East Sussex.

Hi Ted. With the money you're saving on drugs you'll have that GT3 RS in no time.

Q. What is your favorite car?
A. Ferrari F12 TDF

What is your age?
53 years young

What do you drive now?
Ferrari F430 and. Nissan GT-R

Where about's are you located?
Near Silverstone
Haha, unfortunately I have a girlfriend and an unhealthy love for food so the GT3RS might have to be put on hold for a while...

Do you drive your GTR everyday?

A petrol head living near silverstone? Surely that cannot be a coincidence... laugh

You have plenty of time to get that RS - good luck

What is your favorite car? Carrera GT or 250 SWB (one of them slightly more attainable, the other one complete fantasy land ... therefore need 2)

What is your age? 36

What do you drive now? 2012 Ferrari FF (daily) and 2012 Clio RS (weekend/very short distances)

Where about's are you located? Munich
Appreciated. Luckily as I'm not into drugs or drinking I can focus my free time on my education and finding that magic formula to make RS money.

Out of interest, how many miles has your FF got? Considering you daily it. Also, the Clio RS cars are very very pretty, but what made you choose that when you daily an FF?

F40

What do you drive now?
A growing collection of cars, all awesome in their own way.
RR Autobiography (family/wifemobile), F10 M5 mildly modified, 458 Speciale, 355 Berlinetta, Cayman GT4, Carrera GT, TVR Griffith 500, '57 Chevy Bel Air Convertible, Nissan Bluebird Turbo ZX. More to come.

Where about's are you located?
Buckinghamshire

My advice would be, if you want to make real money, start a business now. Starting a business is a lot harder when you're financially comfortable, on a £100k salary with a wife and 3 kids to support. It's easier when you have nothing to lose.
Thanks for the advice. I'm really taking in everyone's advice on this thread, its incredible to be getting so much of it, priceless!

Adam, I read out your collection of cars to my dad, aged 50, all of the cars essentially went over his head, but when he heard "Nissan Bluebird Turbo ZX" his eyes lit up! laugh

By the sounds of things, the way your collection is going, you could get that F40 soon!

What I drive- F83 BMW M4, Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 (collecting brand new very soon)

Work hard Ted and make the most of any opportunity, have courage and commitment in your endeavors and no doubt one day you will afford the cars you aspire to own.
Awesome two car garage! What colour did you go with on the Huracan? Also, why the 580-2? Personally I prefer the looks of the 580.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice. It makes anything seem very possible.

It's a shame that none of your friends are into cars, loads of boys from my school are enthusiastic about them, mostly due to all the car youtubers/vloggers like Shmee etc. But good to see that you have similar ambitions to myself its almost refreshing amongst an age group which (for the most part) lack some ambition IMO thumbup
Hi there mate, its such a relief to find another aspirational person who also has a polish car! laugh

Seriously though, its awesome to finally find someone who is into supercars at my age. Unfortunately we live 2 and a half hours away, google informs me.

I'd love to chat more mate. And I could possibly try to persuade you towards the 458 speciale rather than the performance. wink

See my thread on the Huracan spec.

Why did I choose the 580? Hmmm difficult one, I guess after spending a lot of time watching and reading reviews the 580 was deemed the best all round Huracan model and a bit rawer than the 610. I am used to driving my dad's TVR and numerous powerful BMW's and although totally different, RWD to me just seems more fun and rewarding. Not to mention the 580 is a considerable chunk cheaper than the 610.

No problem with the advice, it pays to always be inquisitive and ask questions.
That makes sense. Although rear wheel drive can be more fun, its also easier to end up in a bushlaugh. The price difference is around £20k right?

Are you one to spec a lot of carbon?

Well advice like this can be hare to come by so it's greatly appreciated.

Ayup.

What is your favorite car?
Depending on my mood, the weather and what road (or track) I'm on it could be any one of the one's below. Or a pre 70s Ferrari, if I could afford one.

What is your age?
Mid forties

What do you drive now?
One of these at any given moment...

2017 Lotus Exige 350 Sport
1996 Lotus Esprit V8
1930 Ford Model A Phaeton
1961 Jaguar Mk2 3.4
1964 Alfa Romeo Gulietta Sprint Coupe
1967 Abarth 595
1972 Mk1 Ford Escort RS1600 Cosworth BDA (Bubble Arch)
2008 BMW E92 M3 V8
2010 Porsche 997.2 GT3RS 3.8
2012 Porsche Boxster S 3.4
2014 Ferrari 458 Spider
2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale
2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
2014 Mercedes GL
2015 Mercedes GLA

Where about's are you located?
York

Keep aiming for the RS. It takes years to be an overnight success and you'll find you get luckier the harder, and longer, you work and the more risks you take.
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Two questions, I think its awesome that you own both a 458 spider and speciale. But after driving the speciale, do you not feel as if you are downgrading when you drive the spider?

Also, Sir, I believe you have an addition to hoarding cars... But it certainly leads to an admirable collection. If you could only drive one car in your collection for the rest of your life, what would it be?

On the road, even throughout Europe as I go on 3-4 road trips per year, you can't push hard enough (and I push pretty hard) to really feel the difference. In any case, the roof comes off the Spider and in the mountains it really makes a difference to the experience.

Don't believe the cack you might see spouted about road cars being better because they have more bhp or whatever, on the road you can reach the limit of what anyone should be driving like in a 200bhp hot hatch. I've just been round Europe (got back Sunday) with the Lotus guys in my Exige 350 Sport. I don't think I go any faster when I go in the Ferraris tbh. Learning how to peddle quickly and safely is far more important than bhp etc.

Couldn't pick one. They're all different. The Spider is a car that does everything well though. I've done 3500 miles across Europe in 12 days in it, rain, snow, sun, 192mph on the Autobahn followed by braying it over mountain passes and cruising the French Riviera and it's been comfortable, fast, the turn in is epic, sounds amazing, looks great. The F12 is just special, the Escort too. The Abarth makes me smile regardless of my mood. I love the Boxster because it does so much, so well, but cost nothing in comparison to the GT3RS and Ferraris. The Exige impresses because it's wick on track (mine isn't standard so it's exceptionally so) and yet can do a 2200 mile tour round Europe and be comfy and fun. Etc etc.

I like em all.

Haha that was a brilliant read, truly, thanks for the response. But I'm going to make it difficult, considering all of the points you made above, which car would it be?

I guess by the way you say the Abarth makes you feel, if you chose that you would certainly have a happy life! laugh

Ps, thanks for taking time to write such a detailed response. I have so many questions! But I've had a long day and I'm tired so I should get to sleep, but I want my question answered, sir!

Cannot forget a GT3 surely?

What do you think of the M140? I’ve got a friend who has an M135, such brilliant cars, there’s not much else like it really. Everything these days similar to it is 4cylinder and front or four wheel drive...

As usual, surprised by the number of kids on here with supercars!
Haha agreed! Whenever I’ve been to car meets/ shows, majority of the owners of the cars are in their 20s. Source Luxuries Breakfast at Brooklands from last year demonstrated that largely to me.

Hope to be a kid with a super car myself some day...
