Not much seems to selling right now?

Is it me? I have been watching the 'for sale' ads of several marques for the past couple of months and cant help noticing that almost nothing seems to be selling at the moment. To the degree that it is putting me off making a purchase - I dont want to jump in only to find that the bubble of increased asking prices has finally popped and prices will actually start to weaken over the coming months (not usual for early summer).

Sold my 430 spider a month or so back using sor through a specialist dealer. It went within a week and I thought I was close to the upper end of the price range. Their margin was miles lower than a main dealer.
Since been looking, hence my post here, for a replacement, I am currently trying to guess how much haggle room I may have with main dealers for 'approved used' cars, especially since they seem to be sticking around... I would of though easily - £5k as an opening gambit (on a £100k + car) but maybe I should be haggling harder than that?

To bring it back on topic, Yesterday I spoke to the specialist dealer that sold my car back in Jan (within 1 week) and they are saying that it is a particularly tough market right now and nothing is selling at sticker prices. I think it sold due to being a truly mint example and realistically priced.
