Hi All just wondered what current thinking is on Ftype SVR models? I have a gen 1 v10 Manual right now and am looking at moving on. These FTypes start around 70k now and I guess whilst the R8 probably won't drop now I am a bit concerned the jag will shed 1000s even for these special models?

That was my early thoughts which I can live with if it holds around 50k SVR is quite a different package than the r if you like goodies and carbon etc

my Mrs said that!! I'm 55 though so knocking on myself. love the r8 still but I do like the SVR in French blue and if I found a really hi Spec one I could be tempted. you can get these to over 150k new if you hit lots of options

she hated the R8 to begin with tbough but soon warmed to it. To be honest if I took her advice on any financial matters I wouldn't be in an R8 ... likely catching a bus

only difference for me would be seeing an svr and thinking why didn't I get that. It's top model snobbery I guess but I always try to get the top model of the range with anything I buy. yes it's a waste of money which I can't explain. Thanks for the heads up in the exact blue colour. looking around it's hard to find a carbon brakes well specd coupe.

no not moving on for a while but the Ftype was on the list not driven one. Still adore the R8 every time I back it out the garage.

Good call I may try that it's mainly a visual thing I'm not so concerned about outright grunt etc but love sound. I'm not sure anything in the price range will have the R8 allure as I still love it a lot but they are a little dated inside now even with top quality extended leather etc

I’ve owned several R8’s and several F-TYPE R’s

Overall, I preferred the F-TYPE R

I personally prefer the looks of the original R vs the SVR, and prefer the RWD manic character as it puts hairs on your chest.
Great feed back just I am going to need to test in the flesh

Your car would for the bill but I really need dealer facilities and would like much lower miles as i,m a 3k a year guy so that's about 9 years for me on the SVR

Yeah I added the ceramic style wheels as it came with the grey forged wheels originally which I also still have, but the ceramic wheels look way better, also PS4S are much better than the Pzero PZ4 tyres the SVR's come with.

My car is in lightest possible specification:
Carbon roof
2PC brake disc, 1kg lighter than ceramics
All carbon packs

I am open to offers if your interested. smile

I hear you I know it seems at odds against my instinct but those svrs look hot. The R8 I love and might well keep but I think it's a bit strong to say an svr is nasty

Since I started the thread not much has shifted. I think the r8 has more presence but still hanker after a really low mile blue f type svr with carbon brake package. it must be my age!! that said I don't want to be 80k into a jag if it's 40k in 3 years cuz my r8 has bottomed out and seems solid ish even in today's market
