looking to sell my 991 turbo in the near future and looking for opinions on what next, i dont daily my cars and am looking for a fun weeked car . Theater and overall experience is big for me aswell as performance but i havnt to date done any track days etc. moved from a tuned gtr to my current 991 turbo which i love but would like something more exotic and theatrical , the 991 is classic german amazing handling, fast well engineered but lacks the emotion.

my current options i can think of are r8 v10 plus gen 2 , mclaren 570s . To add something else to the mix i drove my friends ferrari ff few weeks ago and fell in love with the sound , unfortunatly the ff is out of budget but v12 vantage/vanquish d11 are potential options. any thoughts ?

I swapped an underwhelming 718GT4 and went 540C as I didn’t want Carbon brakes. It’s so quick and a lot of fun to drive.
interesting to hear you were not a fan of the gt4 that was another potential on my list

2016 570S went for £76k inc buyers premium on CC.

I sold my 718GT4, entirely impractical on road due to height and length of nose.

Gt4 wouldn’t see which way a 570S went, heavier, gappy gears vs dual clutch and a third less power imho.

Besides buyer wants a supercar and Cayman isn’t that, for 85k it’s a sports series McLaren, r8, SVR f type, AMG GTR, or older Ferrari / Lambo.

i was very close to getting a f type last year test drove the awd v8 and did really enjoy it , svr has come down loads in price would hate to of paid retail for one ! dont seem to see too many great reviews on it though, has to be one the best sounding stock cars though !

I fell in love with the 570s but I could not park it outside my house unmolested, so I went for the new V8 Vantage and love it. The Merc AMG GT is too much of a macho car for me, the Aston is subtle, fast as hell and will keep you on your toes, yet everyone lets you pull out into traffic.
Watch my review of my V8 Vantage on a 400 mile round trip to Devon and back in a day
i do like the amg gtr looks wise but without all the aero of the gtr its a bit boaty and odd looking i find , do like the new vantage very nice !

from what i have seen most review the 570 very highly and for the price its beating pretty much everything including much higher priced rivals , only downside it warranty cost and reliability . i agree on the r8 falling into a similar bracket of the 911 in it being not very exotic , but as essentially a huracan for 40k plus less is a great deal and am assuming pretty reliable . i dont want any thing too old so rules out ferrari or lambo , only other porsche would be gt4 in budget but not sure i would see it as much of an upgrade . leaves me with 570s which would come with warranty if through dealer r8 v10 or v12 vantage or possibly vanquish 8 speed.

The 570S isn’t a track focussed car. Try the 600LT as a fair comparison with the GT4. McLaren void the warranty if used on track, why? Anyway, the OP hasn’t said he is looking for a track car. He wants something with theatre, overall experience and performance. 570S provides those in abundance.

I was in a similar situation to the OP In April last year, deciding between Porsche, AM, Lambo and Ferrari but chose the Mac. In fact I was very close to buying a new 570S Spider but was offered a decent discount on a barely used 720S, otherwise I would have chosen the 570S.
720 is a real dream car of mine ! mauvine blue 720 yes please ! ha ! bristol is my closest dealer which is probs 2 hours away which is bit of a pain but need to go test drive a 570 and see for myself

Easy decision.
Corvette C7 Z06, if you can find one. £85k buys a low mileage late car. Great handling, rewarding to drive, all the theatre you could ever want, 650 bhp, reliable and inexpensive to service, fantastic soundtrack, and best of all, as rare as hens teeth in the U.K.
People on here will say downsides are left hand drive, but that’s nearly always people that haven’t driven a LHD car. Honestly it makes no difference.
Just my opinion. ??
funny you mention that i have always wanted a c7 but like you said have been put of by the left hand drive aspect , i was offered a swap on my gtr with a c6 zr1 which i really should have taken up !
